All I have to say is:
A smaller, cheaper model that appeals to more people in the new vehicle market, is a smart move by BMW to solidify their future.

A Mini may be a BMW, but it isn't labelled a BMW.

    I won't buy it. But it's a smart move.

EDIT: Correction. I MIGHT buy one later on down the road, if they make a fantastic little 3cyl turbo that gets phenominal gas mileage.
Maybe. It would make a nice little DD to keep the miles down on a toy. And not much else.

Most of it is for crash safety garbage but at the end of the day it sucks to work on. Anything more than maintenance on F cars and I want to run away. As much as FWD displeases me, it is probably a smart move to get more people into the brand. Only problem is those people will probably still not be able to afford the up keep and bitch about how warranty should cover everything for life.
Do you know the engine's internal specs and how much psi the engine creates?

U mad? Try not to take things so seriously.

People can post their opinions until they're blue in the face and develop carpal tunnel. But if you're going to get this butthurt when someone challenges your opinion with their own, you're just a hypocrite.

To be honest i don't care what BMW does with their future designs. sure ill stand atop a plinth and shout obscenities down opun it, as i have waffleswaffleswaffles so for all BMWs starting with the E60. but really i couldnt give 3 1/3's fucks abotu the car.

They are people in the world who "get it" that know which cars are the all time greats, and then there are the sheep who will line up to buy the current cars. In reality most people like FWD, so if BMW went all FWD V6 Autotragic they would probably sell more cars. then of course there are people who dont know the difference between front and rear wheel drive who buy a car based on how comfortable, easy to drive, quiet, it is how many air bags and DTC,ABS, AYC PIITB it has.

I'm not butt hurt. Let's remember that you started insulting forum members saying that we're subway sandwich artists who aren't worthy of the BMW market...all because some of us had a little hate on a sensitive topic for you called BMW. If anything you got butthurt buddy

              My butt is just fine.

I've been part of these forums and this community for the better part of 10 years. EVERY TIME a new model BMW comes out, these threads run rampant. And they're pretty much word-for-word the same thing every time. It gets boring.

              Sarcasm does not equal insults.

Buy as many new E30 parts as you can, with all of these new models and platforms the old parts are sure to get the boot for warehouse space.

We have a new E21 hood sitting in parts for some reason. It's been there in stock with the others for a long time. It is covered in a couple years worth of dust.

flat sides w/ creased accent body curves (audi's ideas of LED futuristic head/tail light designs) & newer technology for todays moderized market like new camrys w/ paddle shifters LMAO. its quite alot to take in for an enthusiast. & FWD in BMW is just dissapointing.

all this car is about in the industry of compact-sporty-sedan thats roomy sells today so something like this is expected but very sad & kinda cool to read about.

no true spirit or soul in the new cars today "not all but most are like this"

I can't believe how pissed you all are over this. It's a "sports van." Soccer moms can now roll in a BMW minivan in style. It's WWD because it's for getting groceries.

Sure it's lame, but I can guarantee you when the E30 was new it surely wasn't marketed toward us either. With that said, I wouldn't see myself getting into one of these 15 years down the road.

And there WILL be a 2 series with RWD to soothe the feelings of the FWD haters. Newer Minis will share the FWD 1 Series components so there will be cost-efficient commonality. FWD is a great way to increase interior space and decrease weight. Not MY choice for sweet handling but there's BMW rationale here.
