I only wear nitrate gloves when messing with electric stuff or brakes/oil. Other than that its bare hands. Gojo and a fingernail scrubber are my best friends. Also some good hand lotion so the lady doesnt feel like she is being groped by sand paper hands ;)

Mechanix Wear gloves, I have about 3 pair and I use them for all my car/fab work. They are also great for construction. For oil changes I go bare handed if I cannot find my rubber gloves. I started this glove wearing after one of my GFs disliked my grease black hands lol. It was too much work to clean them so I just bought gloves.

Nitrile as much as i can, I already have rough enough hands, that dirt n oil get into every wrinkle and doesn't look clean for days...

Of course if i need to get shit done, bare hands for grip...

When dealing with fluids (oil, brake fluid, solvent, etc) or parts wet with same, nitrile gloves are advisable. For dry dirty work (exhaust, brakes, etc) mechanic's gloves are advisable. Once the parts have been cleaned and are dry no gloves are needed.

I get my nitrile gloves from MSC or McMasters. They offer thicker than usual gloves that hold up better. The cheap mechanic's gloves like you find at Advance, etc., are fine around the shop. For track work, where you have to deal with hot parts, a better quality glove is called for.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I learned a long time ago to use work gloves A) When its cold as fuck out, and B) When breaking a bolt loose so as to protect the knuckles, etc. My Carhartt gloves are 4 years old, but still in use. They have a gel palm too which is great, but I dont think they make them as well anymore.

mechanix gloves are awesome for working on clean cars. Grease and oil I try to stay away from when wearing them. I use nitrile for the dirty jobs.

Nitrile gloves are always on my hands. The cleanup is so much easier.

The problem is that I have small hands, medium size is a little too big and gets in the way. I can't find small nitrile gloves locally.

These will fit you in a small. Get them at Napa or Amazon.

I usually start without, see my hands getting dirty and then put them on. Now the inside of my gloves are dirty.
I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

I wear nitrile gloves as much as possible, but with a freshly cleaned/swapped engine and tranny, there isn't a whole lot of grime in/around most of my engine anymore. I just hate scrubbing all that shit out from around my fingernails all the time.

I used to never wear glOves, would spend all night scrubbing my hands!
Now I try to use the nitriles as mch as I can, since I get free boxes.
But if I have a stubborn bolt or something and am afraid i may slip and bust a knuckle, thick MX gloves come out.

Gloves are like condoms...A pain in the ass to put on and they take away all your sensitivity.

                                ....fuck 'em
