I keep a bunch of nitrile gloves in the car, but I haven't used them in a while. They tear so easily it usually isn't worth it. I sometimes use an old pair of cutters football gloves which are great until they get oil on them, but there is no feeling for anything with them on.
Work gloves, no gloves, disposable gloves?

Rubber dots.
All day long. If it's too hot to touch, the rubber melts and not the glove or your hand. You feel and smell it clear as day with no grip.
But if it's not hot, even with oil you have grip. Lots of it.
A dozen of them are about $6, and you can wash them 5 times before you need to buy a new pack. It's nice being able to take off gloves you got dirty and put on a new pair.Last edited by TurboJake; 02-06-2012, 12:16 AM.Comment

Being in the Army exposed me to a lot of "occupational hazards." So I do my best to keep nastyshit chemicals off of my person as best I can.
I have a pair of Mechanix gloves, but recently I've been using left over golf gloves from my work. I work with sensitive plastics/inks and they are the best for grip, but they only last about 3-4 days before you have to replace them.. so I snag all the old pairs.
Great fit, and you can feel very detailed objects like screws/bolts/nuts etc.Comment

I get nitrile gloves in bulk from my wife's work all the time so I swear by them. I used to work as a sales rep for a company that made medical disposables including nitrile gloves as well, and I probably used just as much as I sold.Comment

Depends on what I'm doing. I generally wear my mechanics gloves when dealing with power tools and air tools. Nitrile gloves when I expect it to get really messy (& wet), and bare hands for everything else.Comment

I wear other peoples skin over mine when working on cars, makes dressing and cleaning off more arousing, I actually look forward to wrenching now.
Really, I dont wear gloves at all, and gojo cleans me up just fine.

I always wear glove when working on cars. It's just plain smart to wear gloves. Your hands get so beat up over the years, all the chemicals, the constant washing, and the little cut and nicks. Not worth it to me. I just started using safeguard gloves from microflex, they are the shit! They are disposable latex glove but are way more thicker than the standard disposable latex glove. They never rip or tear ever. I used to go through a box a week now, a box a month. Hands down best glove ever.Comment

I use medical latex gloves, moms a nurse so i get em for free and by the dozens (of boxes). They rip, yes, but it doesnt really bother me...by the time they do im already taking a break or theyre filthy anywaysigpicComment

Due to the fact I can not go to my job with messed up/or dirty hands. I always use gloves nitrite for the dirty stuff, mechanix gloves for everything else.Comment
