im pretty sure that if the US stopped buying oil from OPEC nothing would happen. With the introduction of the Tata Nano, Indians will be able to afford cars and drive more. China will eventually do the same, and then the market shifts form the US to Asia. Middle East still sells over priced oil.

That was the idea when they put OPEC together in the 70's ( IIRC ). Man they don't teach you youngsters anything in school about the world around you.

Wow. Really? Tax everyone to give the lesser a better off position as opposed to the lesser off working harder to become better off? Why even try? You do know that will become unsustainable if everyone figures out they need do nothing to become better off.Comment

God damn there is some serious fucking fail in the this thread, big oil profits less than 10 percent, If you had a solid business plan and took it to the bank for a loan and told them you were only shooting for 10% they would tell you to GTFO. , the gov makes more on oil that the oil companies.

Farbin is right, the amount of people who cheat the welfare system is stupid.
Funny thing is they have now cracked down a bit on it. Some jock had the bright idea to integrate the Tax Department with the Welfare department to cross reference information and to get the cheats, guess what it works. Don't know why they did not do it in the first place.sigpicComment

Saudi Arabia has "sweet crude oil" which allows one to refine it and produce more gasoline from it then the shitty crude that is located under US soil. Thats why its valuable!
I itemize and deduct mileage for my business so thats very helpful! It is 55.5 cents a mile for 2012 - http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...250882,00.html
Yippe!!!
It was 51 cents per gallon for 2011 as I recall so its headed in the right direction! I deducted a shit ton in mileage and so much so the IRS had to contact me to do a request for documentation! Provided documentation and saw 14 grand come off my taxes! Booo YA!

Didn't mean to confuse, my tax situation is a bit different from the normal 9-5 work in one place jobs. It would take too long to explain which is why I added the link to what you could write off in mileage.Comment
