From the 3rd brake light. You work at a body shop...take off that light, fill the holes, and repaint the area.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Or just get a deck lid off a coupe.

could also need tail light gaskets. i have a coup and my tool kit was getting wet just from the moisture in the trunk condensating when the sun beat on it. the whole top of the trunk lid would be covered w/ condensation. so check the seals too.

ya you need to take off the tool kit to see how its attached. Its real dumb and you can fix it with duct tape.

There are two screws holding the tool kit in place. It has to be removed to access the screws for the brake light. Remove the brake light screws one at a time and put sealant around the heads and re-install them. Reinstall the tool kit.

Also check the wells on each side behind the wheel wells. There are drains that must be open to let out any condensation. My trunk lid gasket was leaking underneath and I removed it, cleaned out the old sealant and put new sealant in there and no more water in the trunk.

95% chance the source of your leak has already been listed here, but it might be the grommet at the base of your antenna. mine decided to bite the dust over the winter, and well, it really rustled my jimmies with all that rain we have here

yes you need to take the toolkit out to access how the 3rd light is attached.

                              Definitely.

you can put duct tape around the whole seal and odds are you will fix it. yes. You will see where it leaks in and you could try to silicone it.

People with average IQ shouldnt have a problem fixing it, and they do sell replacement seals... which as noted dont fix the problem. its a peice of plastic held in with rubber grommets
