Zimmerman blanks and pbr semi-metallic. Got them in a kit from turner, the pads are one step up from the standard. Switched them out because they had these in stock. They stop really well but could be quieter. Dusting is moderate but not bad if you keep up on it.- Josh

plain OEM Pagid pads and ATE powerslots.
I ran Hawk HPS for a while, and got sick of the mushy pedal, no cold bite, and poor wet performance. they're useless on the track anyway - the only good thing was they didn't dust much, but I'll take dust and working brakes.Comment

I have HPS all around, and I do have to say cold braking can be rather disappointing. I've been wondering if I had other problems, but the more I read and the pretty decent performance once they warm up has me thinking it's just the pads. Using Brembo blanks in the rear and slotted in front. Probably should have just gotten blanks for front too.

dude, they were so bad I thought I needed a new MC. So I bought a brand new one. Then I ended up just changing the pads & rotors. Suddenly my pedal went from mushy to solid (like it was when I first bought the car). Never did change the MC..I have HPS all around, and I do have to say cold braking can be rather disappointing. the other hawk pads are great (HP+, HT10, etc). The HPS are garbage.Comment

Thanks for the input. I was thinking about getting some HPS but now I may have to search for something else.dude, they were so bad I thought I needed a new MC. So I bought a brand new one. I see where people change pads AND rotors at the same time which really makes it impossible to tell what, if anything, the fancy rotors contribute. Much of what I read though suggests that slotted or cross drilled rotors do little if anything on a street car and may, in fact, be a disadvantage (dont ask me why).
The guys who race swear by blanks, in part because they go through them like candy and price is an element, but they are also big time in to safety & performance so their input has some merit.
I dont think Ive seen one post where someone used the same pad (whether new or reused the same pads) and changed rotors with any advantage. To my mind it's all about the pads & how you drive.

Balo rotors all around, Pagid (D385P) fronts, Meyle (D502SM) rears.
I have found the pagids on the front to dust a bit more than average. They bite really nicely for a street car though, wet or dry. So it's a tradeoff I'm okay with.Comment

I wish I would have seen this about 2 weeks ago... Just finished putting my HPS on yesterday and the first thing I noticed was a mushy pedal (but to be fair it was mushy before). And last night I was looking around for a new MC... Guess I will give them some time and see what happens.dude, they were so bad I thought I needed a new MC. So I bought a brand new one. Last time I checked BMA stocks them.Brembo slotted and HPS pads up front. Rears are what came with the car, as they have plenty of life left. I almost went for hps+ but I heard more than enough complaints for using them as a street pad.
The brembo and hps seems to be a good combo but I would say initial bite is fair and they need to warm up a bit to get maximum stopping power. I once had to make an emergency stop after driving just a short distance from home and I slammed the brakes and thought I was going to wreck until a half second later and they grabbed like no ones business. I had Ate premiumones and mintex pads on the front of my old Jetta and I thought they were a fantastic combo. It's nearly impossible to find mintex pads for e30s though.
And brembo blanks w/ mintex pads front and rear.
