Its an interesting concept but as local/state/federal budgets go I think it is too expensive. Down here the charger is rarely seen, the impala being the most common and alot of Tahoes.

Police agencies get great fleet pricing and readily available parts. With a one off chassis what if they need a part? Gotta be shipped and the cruiser is down? Doubt it

I believe that here you're attempting to refer to Europe, where BMW is also NOT the largest manufacturer. That title would currently be held by Volkswagon AG.

Carbon is NOT importing a car they are planning to manufacture them in Indiana of their own unique design, the only parts that will be sourced from BMW are the engine, transmission, cooling system and exhaust. (the driveline)

Not a good race car like a crown victoria interceptor, but cops dont race with ferraris over in the uk and more importantly taxpayers arent down with 500$ per day gas bills.

You need to watch less TV or something, the Crown vic while a perfectly serviceable police vehicle is no way related to ANY race cars.
and to generate a $500 a day fuel bill in a crown vic you would have to drive 1200-1700+ miles in that day using $5 per gallon fuel.

BTW- While I would love to see it, I doubt that Carbon motors will ever get enough contracts to get this project off the ground since Ford, Chevy, ect. will be able to easily undercut their pricing with the new police models based off currently produced high volume vehicles.

Last I heard, Carbon Motors didn't get the OK from the GOV car gods, not allowing it to be produced as a vehicle for sale. I could be way wrong though.

Your largest manufacturer data doesnt matter, Im not sure if youre talking to yourself or whatever. I mean its great we can all look up whos the largest manufacturer where but what does it have to do with cop cars? Are cop cars made by the largest manufacturer? I didnt look up who the largest manufacturer anywhere is because it didnt matter.
Can you come up with one reason why it would matter?
Same data shows Daimler is the largest commercial car company in europe. Seems they would be a top competitor. Renault I think is govenrment owned so they dont even need to make money...

Im sure I said based on bmws. They make their own car definitely. Put it together here with us market stuff and euro market stuff

but it is BASED on the millions of cop cars in europe. Im sure bmw is not the most common cop car in europe even I think there are more mercedes, fiats, renaults etc but its up there. You can look it up but dont post it here thanks

I think most of the posters here have the intellectual ability to understand BASED on bmw cars. hopefully improved and focused to law enforcement.




a cop car is running 24 hours a day, particularly a highway patrol car.

going 1200 miles a day in a highway patrol car runs 24 hours is way more than feasible and likely. By your estimate numbers it would and should cost much more especially considering tons of time a cop car is running and traveling 0 miles with an arresstee. How about this word problem, how much gas could a cop car use in 24 hours? Because they do, they run 24 hours a day often averaging 8 mpg....Whether its relevant or not, because 500$ was just an estimate, figure out a real number.
Actually running 1000 miles a day is very common for many cop cars, at significantly lower mpg than stock filled with passengers and heavy cop gear that significantly lowers mpg.

I cant remember which one said the vic interceptor is slow or something. It could be slow compared to sports cars but compared to other cop cars its the fastest. (now hold on sonny while jr mints looks up those mustang cop cars. Its true, some cop cars are faster but they are not THE cop cars they are a special thing. There could be corvette cop cars somewhere. Ive never heard of one but there could be. Ive seen the mustang cop cars they exist they are faster because they are not huge cop cars)

Its a very heavy vehicle with a souped up gas v8. Its the only police car that reaches 130 mph.
So that concept is just that with heavy bmws you lose the top speed of the crown victoria. But thats all.

Switching the Gas engine to Diesel gives the bmw cop cars some trouble in high speed pursuits. Not being a cop I cant say thats not important, but I just pointed out that its incredibly expensive.

Anyhow whoever has something to discuss good job. I guess you could try and contradict my only point lol but its sort of just an obvious observation.
The like arguing about who makes holden childish crap doesnt really keep the conversation alive or bring any new relevant facts.
