Building a custom garage, halp me design it!

Hey all, I was hoping to get some advice from the hive-mind that is r3v!

I may be tearing down my garage and building a new one. I've got an 800 square foot limit and want to build an apartment over it as well, so I'm thinking that the garage itself will be pretty small, enough for my e30, motorcycles, a workbench, and my drumset (just the essentials, right?).

That said, my question for you guys is if you had approx 17x17 to work with (or any size, whatever, really), what stuff would you do to your garage? What would your ultimate garage be? Cosmetic things are welcome, features are too, anything that would make it a killer place to get ish done.

Here are my ideas so far (and I'll update this as suggestions come in):
    • Sink
    • Wood floor or stained concrete
    • Good overhead lights
    • Drain in floor/grate outside of main entry
    • Insulated door
    • Heated floor
    • Exposed beam roof

    Other Suggestions:
    • Minifridge
    • Lift
    • Stripper pole
    • Old gas pump for outdoor light
    • Stereo
    • Compressor/hoses in good spots
    • Bright floor to be able to see parts. All white everything
    • Bunker
    • Ceiling power lines
    • Glass Block
    • Chocolate Milk Fountain

This. Although a multi-keg keg-o-rator would be even better.

Lift for sure. Some sort of wash basin/parts washer for cleaning up dirty/greasy/oily parts. And you definitely NEED a good stereo, so much easier to work on things with tunes playing imo.

Rig up a good compressor system. I hate dragging hoses all over and getting them caught on shit.

                  oh and a glory hole

Thanks for that link, love the lift! I thought that they were bigger/more complicated than that, that seems totally feasible!

                    Keep the ideas coming, guys!

Paint everything white. It will help you keep shit clean. Walls, floor, ceiling. Everything.

I'd want it bigger than 17x17.
