Not sure if previous owner is on here, i know hes on Bimmerforums but last November i purchased an 89 325ix.

It kissed a wall at a track day and done some front end damage, he repaired it but never repainted the hood and fenders.

It got loaded up on the trailer and went directly to the body shop where its been sitting dormant. They're gonna start working on it in april. All rust/issues repaired, full respray, shes gonna look new when done.

prior to that i had a 94 530i Touring, swapped to 5spd, then swapped the m60b40 from a 540i. It totally transformed the car. Engine bay caught fire back in 2009 and i still miss that car to this day.

I have an 88 325i LHD manual that I've had for a year and it's my daily driver and love tourings. I have a bunch of suspension parts and a complete AC system stripped from parts cars ready to install but have been busy on other projects. It also has some basketweaves on it now, not shown in pics.

That is a badass looking touring. Are you going to go to Eurohanger this year by chance? It would fit in well.

My stock as a rock 325i Touring.

Tourings never made it to our shores here in Australia. So the cars that are here are normally personal imports from the UK. These cars normally have rust issues from salting of their roads. No issues with this one however as it was brought to Australia under a scheme once popular in our country around the time the cars were built.

Order your car in your countries spec (this is a actual Australian spec car, not sure if there are any others hiding here under the same) pic it up in Germany from the factory, drive for a short time in Germany on your holiday, return to the factory and have the car delivered to a dealership of your choice in Australia and bypass any taxes. Pretty smart!

And that means this car has zero rust and is in amazing condition.

The other Touring is my friends 325i which is a UK import model.

Nice touring, thanks for posting. Your scheme to bring the cars in new seems similar to today's European Delivery program that is available to USA customers, among others I am sure. The difference in the USA is you cannot do the European Delivery option on cars not otherwise available in the USA. In the mid 80s and earlier, I bet your plan would have worked though!

What is that showroom/workshop you have your car parked in? Looks like some good American iron in there.

Yes i have heard some of the American/overseas deliveries on late model BMW's. You guys are lucky, our import laws are quite tight these days....

That is the auction house where i purchased the car from.

Here are some pictures with younger relatives.

The owner has been holding out for me to buy it. Going to make a deposit on it in the next few weeks so it doesn't go anywhere. Corner of the floors are showing some rust. I'll winter drive for maybe 2 winters and then it will be stripped and fixed. IX flares on a touring look awesome. First Canadian owner R3V'd into the back of someone in mtl traffic unfortunately.
