Thanks!
She doesn't look like this right now, unfortunately.
The engine blew up at a track day event, and then the car was rear ended, so there's some work to do before she looks like this again.
But next year she'll be ready again.#ShenanigansE30 1989 Touring AC Schnitzer S3 replica http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=320784

I am possibly more jealous than normal. I just sold mine yesterday :( Someone offered me a good price for it so it is gone. I will look for another one, however.sigpic

This wasn't planned at all. I've been saying for a long time, that we're not gonna buy any more cars, but then I saw this picture on the internet 2 weeks ago, and I had to find the car.
I saw it back in 2011, being prepared for trackday so I basically already know the car.
Which is why I had to find out what had happened to it, and fortunately the owner wanted to sell..
So I'm gonna pick her up on wednesday.#ShenanigansE30 1989 Touring AC Schnitzer S3 replica http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=320784

Just picked this 320i up from a guy in MD who had 3 others in his warehouse. He's selling a blue 318i on ebay now.
Black and white are my least favorite exterior colors, but this Touring has the "unicorn" specs I've been looking for since last year: M20, 5-speed, FACTORY A/C. The A/C even blows colder than the A/C in my '92 vert, probably because it's still R-12.
It's cosmetically tired, so I'm working on a plan for the paint and interior. The rust is not terminal, but needs to be addressed. Already bought some Style 10 wheel from another forum member, so those will be on with new tires ASAP.
It has 178k miles and the valves are ticking loud. Took it to a great shop in Baltimore (Blue Ridge Sports Cars) for a "once over" before driving it back to NC. The owner said the ticking may be a worn cam, and the plugs looked like it's burning a lot of oil. If the engine needs major work, I'll be swapping in an M20b25 and putting some of the cosmetic work on hold.
I have tons of questions, since this is my first Touring and first non-US car. Since this post is already getting long, I'll just start with these.
1. Is there a forum or anywhere else in the web where Touring owners gather and share info?
2. Any recommendations for sourcing NLA trim parts?
3. Is it correct that Tourings are the same as sedans from the back seat forward?
Thanks. Looking forward to interacting with other Touring owners here and elsewhere.

Contact Blunttech or Gutenparts for touring specific parts as they can get Euro parts.

My 1989 325i vert (sold)...this is Nina
My 1991 M5 (sold)... this is Veronica

There are also some vendors in the Parts classifieds section that part out cars in the UK and Ireland. Try Sskoda for example. This might not be useful for shipping large body parts but smaller pieces at least.
Also try Kijiji in Canada. The Tourings have been imported there longer so you may get lucky and find a cheap partout car.sigpic

The rear door panel is the same as the sedan, it's the top of the window that makes the season and wagon different.
