There are not that many Tourings in Canada as they were not marketed very well back then in the dealership and they were special order.
Just so you know, tourings were never sold in Canada, there are just many more here as they became legal for import after 15 years.
    Well...which is it?

Never sold here...But some people may have done some shaddy things
to have them imported. I bought mine already imported here so I don't
know how it was imported. But it is registered as a 325ix 2dr...Well this
is what the vin brings up when the SAAQ(our DMV) checks for it.

If you really want a rust free E30....Spain but it's gonna be like buying a southwest car. Rubber is going to be dry and brittle and things that dry out in the sun.

i've been doing tons of research on this, and am working with another member that works for a shipping company to attempt to bring back one in a company container. the only way i can see this possible in the near future is finding an '87 build, as was already stated. from what i can tell, tourings DID start in 7/87, but were also not produced august-september. the cooler ones (ix/td) didn't start until jan 88, so for the time being are irrelevant. i've been scouring local postings across europe for months and have only come across one or two late '87 builds, both with not-negligible rust issues. short answer; i'm going to have to get lucky or settle for picking up a nice early model instead.

I was caught up on this same idea a few months ago but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I'd have to get really lucky or it would probably be a big pain in the a$$$$$.

Alot of UK tourings being bought are getting shipped out to China/Japan as they're rare over there.
On of the guys of the zone got offered a lot more than the asking price, and that was shipped out to china with in a few days.

no, i doubt that is the case. more like someone took the vin to a wrecked IX and re-vin'd his touring. shady, as he said.

                        I bought mine already imported.
You could make some serious dough if you did a few at a time. I have several pm's on different forums from people wanting to be the first in line when I sell.

I've gotten the same inquiries and have a decent size list.

Sometimes I wonder what the touring would be worth when i'm done building her.

                              The one I posted is 92 :/
Does it have to be 87 when imported or can you import a 88 and wait a year to register it?

i think you have something like 48 hours to have it decided, whether parts car, dedicated track car, federalized, or classic car exemption. and no, a parts or track car cannot later be registered on the street.
