bummer. I would *never ever* let my gf or any girl drive my car without me in it (and even then..). you ever see the wheels on a typical 20 something girl's car? rashed all around, they use curbs as bumpers. not to mention all the dents, lack of maintanence, and all the garbage most of them like collect that ends up inside.

You should see my wife's 2003 330Ci Convertible. She nearly went to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change. She drives around on contruction sites with it and here wheels have rash but she swears she never hit a curb... riiiiiiight.

wow, you guys really do feel my pain.... none of you even asked if she's ok. Well, she is ok.

We've been together a long while so it's not like I can't forgive her for she has forgiven me for ALOT. The damage isn't extreme, but it damaged the frame cause the floorboard behind the driver and passeger seat has risen. The body shop estimated it at $900. But that doesn't include my parts and the muffler etc... I can't turn my back on this car, I have invested quite a bit of time, patience and money in it or I would just part it and get another car.

$900 seems super low for frame damage after hitting railing on the highway. If you are claiming it on insurance, bring it to the BMW and get their quote so you get the max amount of money out of the settlement.

            Glad she was ok.

all I had on it was liability, wasn't planning on adding comp and col. until I did more with it.... I took it to a friend of mines father's shop, where I had my seats re-uphostered. It's a mexican shop so that's probably the price break, nothing against mexicans or that the quality of their work wouldn't be good.

I would spend the $900 on another shell. you can swap all your mods over to the new car.. unless you really like the M10 or something.

trust me, start over, get a clean shell with a blown motor, part it out and part out your 318i minus the things you wanna keep (mods etc), buy a m20, drop it into your new shell and enjoy a much better e30 for less money then it would cost you to get your car properly fixed + you have a real motor not a m10 when your done.

damn, I guess you are right.... shit!!!! I've put money into that "M10" though.... which now thinking about it was stupid. Where does one buy a M20 that doesn't need a bunch of work though? and a shell with a blown motor that might not also need work elsewhere? damn!!! I have always wanted my car to be a manual.... you guys!

A&J Auto in Von Ormy has great prices on 5 acres of parts cars. 800-622-5810 Claire is the owner and she is very nice.
