gazellebeigem3 wow, nice! joe and i have found two mtech II sets
WOW, 2 Mtech 2 kits, mang ! Holy cannoly.
I can see the future, there's 2 pimp mobiles in it :)

    Eurospeed You... SUCK.
    I know, I know

Joe318is damn, id rather find that shit! where are your front struts?
left the strus behind, they were 325eS ones, would not fit red cabrio.

Jordan What are the spring rates though?
yet to look them up, came off a 325eS with a Pro Forma chip.

Rob a call to GC can probably find that info....
    thanks, good to know.

Eurospeed That's it. Next time I've got a free long weekend, I'm going over to the valley and hitting the pick-a-part yards.
it"s a rare find but never the less well worth the trip, bad comes to worst you'll find a few M Tech 1/M3 steering wheels and iS/eS rear spoilers, maybe even a nice set of Eibachs or H&R's. there's even passanger side sports seats in great shape, just transfer panels to worned-out driver seat. can't loose.

royalflush313 FYI here's how to decode the part numbers of the springs:

    - First number is length in mm (divide by 25.4 to get inches)
    - Second number is diameter in mm
    - Last number is Newtons per meter (multiply by 5.71 to get pounds per inch.)

    So I think those are F6"-300lb/inch & R5"-475lb/inch
thanks a million royalflush313, i'll double check on monday.
Formula info it's really handy., thanks again.

e30sd or you could just go to the GC website, type the pn in the search box, and voila.
thanks for heads up, i'll try that too.

bwanac Amazing find. I never find shit.
it was just luck, i happened to divert from usual route and hit 2 other yards before going to the lucky spot, car was brought out 15 minuts earlier, have i've gone there first I would missed out.

Streetspec_iS nice work. if you wanted make some bank, im sure you could easily find them a home in Oz.
thanks, tempted but going onto red cabrio.

Eurospeed How much did you pay for all that?
    $ 80 buckaroos, :thumbup:

It sure took me a while to remove rear sleeves, actually 1 stub came off trailing arm.
seem that it was weakened due to sleeve cutting into it.
I Would definitely recommend a washer beneath them to avoid direct contact with trailing arms.

    808BMW Holy crap, nice score
    thanks mang.

it is printed on the springs. The middle springs (used in front Im sure) are 5" long, 2.25" ID, and spring rate is 475lbs/in

      Nothin metric about it.

Those are some damn stiff springs! Plus Ive never seen 2.25" springs on the front of an e30 before. Interesting.

By your conversions they would be what, 19" long and 9" inside diameter? :)

          Uhm,
          Center"s are Rear (0500.225.0475) springs, SKU 5475225
          Outer Front"s are (GC150.64.53) SKU # 6300
silverish medallions go on top of front springs,
sort of a washer beneth struth tower bearing assambly.

I'll problaby get a set of Helper/Tender springs as on H&R's setup in Delphin Metallic cabrio

It's really hard to run tender springs on E30's because if you lower the car much you only have 1" or less of suspension travel.

Great find though, you can't beat that deal and they look to be in good shape.

                            out of curiosity....

if those were on a car, the collars should have been welded to the strut housings in place of the spring perch. how did you take that apart?

Collars were not welded, they were dancing in there.
if i remember correctly, they just sat onto spring perches or perhaps those little adaptors plates were welded there.

suspension was unloaded as car was off the ground.
all i did was disconect tie rod and 3 nuts on strut tower., whole assambly droped, tapped collar to release shock and pull whole assambly off.
separated strut bearing from shocks with a vise grip and 8mm wrench. front shocks were blown and not Bilsteins.

sorry mang, but you'll have first dibs if they dont fit onto cabrio struts.

when you're coming around this side of town ?
weekdays canyon runs are traffic/cops free., say around 11 and 3 when asphalt it's hot and sticky. Encinal on 3rd all the way or Latigo hill climb-a-thon. there's a freaking local kid with a Subaru WRX that fly's pass me on the uphills. that Bastard !
