the e30 curse

No, but when my Zinno got totaled by a Honda Accord (his fault) I sued him so I meet up with him every month for payments. About 3 months into it, he pulled up in an e30 and said "hey look what I just picked up." hahaha kinda ironic.Comment

I properly r3ved my first e30 about a month ago after having it for 6 years. a two trunk tree fell on it right across the front of the roof and the dash and saved the e46 parked next to it from more damage. No driver error here, just 95mph winds and rain and a big ole tree.
btw, it still started up afterwards and is currently getting stripped for parts for a new e30 i just got to replace it. ;)
you have to think though, most of us wouldnt part with our first e30 without it getting totaled.

My first E30 hasn't ever been driven on a road under my ownership unless you count a trailer. It was clipped by a suburban in the front prior to me buying it.
My second one got driven into in a parking lot by a lifted dodge truck. My MT-2 absorbed most of that. :(
And my new one got backed into by a Maserati right outside of the garage of E30 #2's new owners.
So yes, I think they are cursed.Comment

Still have my 1st E30. got rear ended at a red light but it was only about 2 mph and didn't even mar the paint on the impact strip. I've had it for 2 years now.

Luckily I havent' totalled either of my e30's (first was from 01-02 which was sold), second was from 03 until present.
i find what works for me from being rear-ended, is to immediatly hit the hazards when making quicks stops in high-speed areas as most ppl. are texting etc. This seems to help get their attention. Needless to say, ya always gotta have control of you car, as well as be in complete awareness of everyone around you at all times.
Come to think of it, this was covered in the owners manuals of some of the early 7 series BMW's where they suggested the drivers engage in calisthenics to help keep the drivers alert and engaged with the car and with everything else around them. Shame they dont' suggest this anymore, would really decrease the amount of accidents on the road with ALL cars, not just BMW'sIf it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!Comment

i have a few friends that put on their hazards when braking agressively.
i see why u do that. but if someone isnt paying attention. then someone isnt paying attention. and they will probably hit u anyway,
but i always worry about people who maybe looking at your hazard lights, and not paying attention. and cause another accident.1989 325i SETA stroker [delphin] R3V'd 8/31/2011

I had a guy pull out and stop in front of me in rush hour traffic while I was doing 45 mph. I ended up t-boning him pretty hard. Sucks because it was my first e30, lachssilber, houndstooth, and was my dad's when I was a kid.Comment
