My car has tons of paper work for tons repairs over the years.I have original window price and warranty post.Has all original owners Manuel ,booklets you would get when bought new.The first owner was a lease.
The car suggested retail price was 35,305.00 back in 1988 not so cheap. The car was in Texas than Florida than to me in California. The prior owner to me was a douche bag.Comment

That is a sweet VIN plaque by the way, I haven't seen one like it. Where is it located? Mine is a sticker in the door sill and despite being built just three months later it reads "Made in Germany", not West Germany. Someone as GMBH was thinking ahead since the Berlin wall did not come down until '89. :hitler:Comment

My car was a one owner, scratch that, one anal owner mostly stock 325es. I have a journal from day one of all the maintenance he ever did on it - including, but not limited to rotating the break rotors.
The paint was awful and he pulled the bbs rims on me in the middle of the sale - really aggravated me. He cried when I drove it away. I find joy in showing him what I have done to the car. haha
I do have a good story about finding parts...but I suppose that is OT.Comment

My car was sold at auction just 4 years after it was built. I also know that one of the previous owners was a short lady who had to sell the car after she got pregnant - her belly scooted her too far back from the wheel for her to reach the peddles!sigpic

The PO of my car bought it off lease in 1993 and kept it for nearly 19 years. It was a gift to himself for his first job. Work brought him from the east coast to California, then to Texas, then back to the east coast. He was meticulous and kept records, thus why I wound up in a 4-door instead of a coupe - too good to pass up. He ordered an F01 5er and could no longer store the E30 indoors.
The interesting thing is that I bought the car and then my first job took me and the car from PA to Portland Oregon, and now to Massachusetts, and then back to PA next year to settle again.
PO also became a VP for Sirius Communications, so the only modification to the car was a satellite radio hookup, with nav/traffic, and a popup Alpine touchscreen. Though I have the factory radio, I'll retain the Alpine because the satellite box seems to possess an unlimited subscription.. unless PO is still paying the Sirius bill :)Comment

Mine (01/90 325is) was purchased new as a company car. Then spent a decade in Michigan before working through 2 other owners before me. I'm the 4th owner. Found some student loan papers under the back seat, anyone need an extra SSN?
The guy I got it from bought a nice looking 944s after selling me the E30. Found out the 944 had been stolen 6 times in the mid 90's when he went to sell it.- Josh

My car has a kind of interesting story. It was a PNW car its entire life- sold brand new at Rasmussen (pretty sure.) All original paint, even (which was pretty strange, considering it's condition before I bought it.) It moved around to California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. In 2007, one of the PO's backed into a pole and fucked up the trunk. It was then donated to the Kidney Car foundation, for whatever reason.
At the time, I was in high school, working for my friend's wrecking yard, helping him get rid of a bunch of excess cars and parts. He had an in with the Kidney Car foundation and was able to pick up any car he wanted for $100. It wasn't uncommon for him to get 10+ cars a day.
So, one day, this '89 sedan rolls through. At the time, I was a complete noob and had my E36 325 sedan and didn't really think much of this car. I washed it and threw it up for sale for $1200 and a couple weeks later, someone (the guy that I actually bought this car from) picked it up.
Fast forward 3.5 years...this car pops up on CL for an attractive price with a fair amount of work done to it and I pick it up on a whim. I planned to just turn around and sell it so I could fix my E28, but I got attached, and the car stayed.
One day, I was going through some old pictures and found the pictures of my car FS ads when I worked at the wrecking yard. I came across a certain Zinno sedan. I clicked the picture and saw it had the same license plate, the same door ding on the driver's side, right below the lock and the broken off car phone antenna on the roof.
Needless to say, I was kinda blown away that this car made it back to me, four years later. It was almost like it was meant to be. Needless to say, this car isn't going anywhere.'70 911s | '72 2002 | '88 M5 | '89 330is | '89 M3 | '95 911 | '02 M5 | '04 RR HSE
