I'm starting to see a lot of leftover verts. All hardtops are gone, except for rust buckets. At this rate, finding a decently priced e36 is way easier.

I watched as $3500-$4500, used Cuda's turn into a half million collector piece in a couple of years, (upwards of a million now) I suspect it happens to some extent with every generation.
ZM, good on you guys for analyzing the market I bet you will be way out ahead of most guys on this one.

I've noticed this too. I've been trying to help my buddy find one who's on a budget but they've just been so overpriced (and lacking the condition) to justify buying one.
My first e30 was professionally built- cosmetically and mechanically. I paid $7500
My second e30 I paid $7500 also. It's S50 swapped & BAR'd, exterior needed work, interior was more than decent, just needed some TLC and tasteful mods. After paint, suspension, wheels, etc. I'm in it over $16k. Would I expect it to sell for that?- Obviously no, but as another said, a well sorted e30 is worth what one's willing to pay for the trouble.
I read about an e30 getting totalled almost every week on the forums-not to mention the ones we don't hear about. More e30's totaled means a dwindling supply (especially those on the market), which equals an increase in value/asking price. I blame people like that guy "Colt" lol.

a picture of me?
isnt there one in my profile? I will check right now
ya its there.
Ok well Im encouraged by these sales on the east coast and midwest.
Ill put my car up for sale on craigslist even though Im using it and see how many people are interested.
my e30 was for sale for about 4 months this year and I only got one serious offer. In general someone responded to the ad once a month. I bought and sold 6 cars this year and I couldnt even get anyone to even test drive it that was there for another car, like a miata or civic I was selling.
I drove it down to san jose for body parts and put it up for sale for I think 2500 and didnt get any response.Last edited by stamar; 10-06-2012, 12:52 AM.
