Bit on the rough side but at 7k that is a money maker on a flip to an enthusiast if it runs and can be cleaned up and just slightly sorted.

it does run, so she claims. She started the car once a week to keep the battery fresh but she neglected to start for a few weeks. But she said everything is in running condition. Trust me I will ask for a new battery and if it doesnt start, im not buiying it.

They look like HRE 501 knock offs, I know HRE had the stem in the lips and there was not a lock on the waffle. From the lock I am guessing Jap brand.

          That is worth 7k easy.

not beat for a 23yr old car. But yes it does need some TLC, havnt checked underneath yet. No body damage, im assuming you meant frame damage?

$7k, I would buy it, you can't go wrong and could easily part with it and not loose a dime. Just remember these are all $20,000 cars you will get there one way or another:)

Being a Florida car I'd definitely check for any major rust, the humidity and abundance of salt in the air could have caused some damage. It looks like an excellent find, I'm just skeptical on the whole "battery" thing.

                        1. If a person really wanted to sell the car, they'd pay the >$100 for a battery.
                        2. Florida weather can beat a car up pretty bad. Rust, corrosion, clogged shit, etc.
                        3. Hell, just take the battery out of your car real quick and give it a go haha. Either way, I'd get a battery in there and see what happens. If it doesn't start, maybe she'll go even lower?!
                        4. Rick Harrison (Pawn Stars) this chick! Tell her "$7k deal if it fires up, or agree on a lower price if it doesn't.)
                        5. Either way this goes, I think you'll come out fine given the circumstances. An S14 rebuild takes some serious cash when done properly, take that and also "wear and tear" maintenance into consideration. As another said:

                          -To reiterate-

I am not an authority on M engines. The E30 M3 owners should chime in..

What I do know as fact, is that this engine will be expensive to rebuild if it requires it. 222K is approaching the limit and may be passed the recommended build mileage. Again, not an authority, but I researched a quite bit before buying mine, www.S14.net is a virtual encyclopedia and recommended. I have the build sheet for mine and the break down of parts, labor and end price....IT.IS.NOT.CHEAP.

This is in addition to cosmetics issues, those that can be seen and those you can't see right now that require updating or fixing. Running-non rebuilt and in 'good condition' 2.3L M3 Engines normally cost 5K and up alone.

Aside from that, and if you're prepared in the event something does happen, i think the journey will be fun and more than rewarding to get the car performing and looking to your taste. Oh and Alpine FTW:)

If you don't buy it, please post it here or s14.net. One of us WILL buy it.

I'm sure you know, but even if the engine runs, 225k is the upper limits for an s14. It'll need a rebuild or another engine soon. That is easily a $12-15k purchase without even trying. A proper s14 rebuild can easily cost over $10k. That is why you see so many with s50/52 swaps. Vastly cheaper.

Sounds like a good plan. My red flag goes up whenever I see an ad where the seller claims the problem is something simple (like a $25 part, or dead battery).

If she's asking $7k for a car that will otherwise run, she can afford to put a battery in it and prove that it does.

seems like a legit deal if it turns over.
