IIRC if you paint your car a wonderful metallic flecked shade of poop, then it's not particularly girly, even though contrary to what many people on r3v believe, girls poop too.

Being an artist and once aspiring car designer here's my breakdown:

Art is all about psychology and getting people to feel emotion at least when things used to be about art and computers weren't so involved as with just about anything made in the early 90's and back.

The E30 does have characteristics that appeal to women and I think the two main characters are sexy and confidence with the right amount of aggression thrown in and the order depends on which part of the car you see first. The sexiness is definitely from the side and the confidence is in the front with the big grill and headlights. The back is a blend of the two. It's got a short bumper to show off the wide wheels and stance to remind you that as small and sexy as it was while passing you, the E30 means business.
