I first got a 2 door E30. Then I got a 4 door E30 because the having 2 doors less made life harder. I prefer 4 doors from my experience. Still have both.

Interesting point about the classics though. Not that there aren't classic 4 doors, but in situations where there are 2 door counterparts the values are nowhere close. Old American cars are the best examples of this, though, so that's sort of a different story.

It's the exact car I've always wanted...with two extra doors. I don't see how I possibly lose in this situation.

Also I'm pretty sure I've read that the weight difference is negligible.

I'm not exactly in the market right now but if I were I'd probably scoop the car in question.

Same. Plus I have an infant and I can't imagine trying to put her in a coupe.

old american cars that were 4-doors were usually fugly base models. the higher trim GT type packages always came in the 2-doors.

I don't even really notice the difference or think about 4-door vs 2-door. 99% of the E30s I see are piles of junk anyway, the # of doors they have doesn't change that..

          4-door because sleepercar

I do have to laugh at what a "pain" it is to add "all" the stuff that came on an is model to a non-is model. really? uhm, basically a lip and different seats? do people really think there's a big difference?

I could really care less, I like the way they both look. The only benefit to a 4 door is it's easier to get in the back, it's no bigger.

i think the 4-door proportions are better, but someone once commented that when they are driving with their arm on the door sill, the door lock pull jabs them in the arm.

i have a two door, and arm-out driving is a pleasure

I used to own 2 doors when I first got into e30s 11 years ago. Then sold and started driving 4 doors. I don't know if anyone else thinks it, but 2 doors look dumb.

Only desire for a 2 door is a vert, I will NEVER own another 2 door. The 4 doors just look so much better. And the BS about having a 2 door to not cart around friends is stupid. You still have a backseat...friends will STILL ride in the back fucktards.

Remove the back seat like I did! I have one seat for a passenger, anymore than that and they will need to find another ride lol.

I have 3 perople in the back seat (not children or midgets btw) on a regular basis. People complain more about their head hitting the roof then climbing in, or the leg room.

I have a 4 door 325i, it has a 5 speed, 3.73 and an 'IS' lip. I wasn't looking for a 4 door but I bought it anyway and I'm glad I did, I like it so much more than my buddy's 2 door. It's so practical, I've had 5 people in my e30 more than once

so what we have come up with in this thread is......
E30s are rusty junk, and only girly men drive 4 doors!

A coupe is always going to be worth more, is the answer that we are looking for.
