I had a salesman pick me up in a 350z demo car from the airport (went to another state to pick mine up and drive it home since local didn't have the color I wanted).

He red-lined that thing so many times, ground gears, etc. It was mechanically beat. THAT is what happens to a sporty demo car.

Add to the fact that this was the first year of the model (2003), and you know crap was failing. You should never buy the first year of a car model (cough BR-Z cough Scion) - because that is when all the bad engineering exposes itself.

Problem is, most of the bad engineering only appears AFTER warranty. My Z had tranny problems, window regulator failures, brake problems, etc. Plus there were the recalls that were covered under warranty. AND . . .I babied mine. Imagine one that was beat since infancy.

But hey, it's your money. If you want to take 20K and throw half of it in the blast furnace, have at it.

So. I figured I'd update. I went there. Said my peace. They were like yeah.... No. Basically they had the demo there, priced it $600 under msrp, and would be like hey! You can just get a new one for $xxxxx.

So I told them I'd pass.
