But to be fair, he was being a dick at the show (burnouts, revving, wreckless driving) the kind of stuff that gets the shows cancelled. Also the type of stuff the people putting the shows on tell you not to do.

I told the guy at Autozone I needed some ATF because I had a leaky power steering line. He tried to get me to buy power steering fluid for 5 minutes before I went and showed him where the cap said "ATF OIL ONLY" on it. He said he had never heard of using ATF for power steering.

Right after high school I was looking for a job, and I knew my friend had a job at Auto Zone in SF on Geary St. She hooked me up with an interview, and part of the interview was taking a test on what I knew about retail and auto parts/repair. I got a call a day later asking if I could come in for a fallow up interview so I did. First question out of the managers mouth was "I know you have friends that work here, did you cheat on the test?" I told him I did not, and that I had no need to cheat on the test. He told me he had no need for me.
On the way out I talked to one of the guys at the counter, and asked him why they thought a cheated. Turns out I scored higher on the test then any of the other people at the shop including all the managers. Guess you dont need to know much about cars to run an Auto Zone.

Yes, I don't know if you have cars and coffee in your location, but recently since people were doing this, there are always 3 squad cars on the ready and they are always ready to dish out tickets for even minor offenses like "exhibition driving"...

We started up a C&C and it was kinda small. We have squad cars but they leave before everyone starts pulling out. Thats when the stupid shit happens. Some dude in a supercharged mustang ripped out of his parking lot and missed a Viper by 3 feet. and he kicked up gravel scratching the Viper. Never saw that guy again. Then some civics rolled in and revd the piss out of their shity motors. They just about wanted us to shut it down.

time to bump an old thread

asked a guy what the top speed on his Automatic 350Z was, and he said he pulled it to 110 then got scared, but he believed the absolute top speed to be "200 maybe 210" He then went on to describe his brothers M3 which went "about 250"
I asked him if it was an E36, E46, etc etc and he response was yeah bro he had the E something...

and one thing that always kinda frustrates me is when I ask if someones car is auto or stick, and they say Yeah I have a stick, I got tiptronic, its the same thing.

This girl at my college had her parents buy her a new 1 series and we were talking about it one day. I asked if it was manual or automatic and she wasn't sure, ok to non car people that might be a fine answer. So I went on to ask how many pedals did it have, and her response "idk, the normal amount I guess".

When I was in high school there was this guy who drove a fox mustang. He was in a couple of my classes and I had mentioned that I was a fan of 5.0's. He was going out for lunch and asked if I wanted to tag along.

As we approached the car, I noticed the single tail pipe, and when he fired it up my suspicions were confirmed. "This is a 4 cylinder", I said. He replied:"No, there's 4 in the front and 4 more in the trunk, it's an 8 cylinder!"

He also claimed it was a 6 speed and twin turbo among other things. But it was an automatic, and he moved the shifter between "1" and "2" as he was driving.

7th period couldn't come fast enough.

A couple years after we graduated I ran into him at a gas station. He was driving an X-type Jaguar and said he was working at a car dealer. I can only imagine the stories he told his customers.

Automotive know it all's make me want to club a baby seal. Guy at work told me his 94 grand Cherokee had a 360 on it. I said you mean 318. He said no it's the 5.2l 360. Might want to check your math there slick, the metric equivalent of a 360 is 5.9 which also only came in the grand cherokee in 98.

Some Diesel guys also piss me off. Guy at work said he'd let go of his 95 12v Cummins for $6800...$10000 if he put it back together! I'm all for diesels and Cummins pays me to make parts but Jesus, lay off the crack rocks!
