It's very likely he will be replaced by Kevin Magnusson.

There are serious issues surrounding Maldanado's money, he doesn't seem particularly marketable, and wouldn't be in F1 without the tens of millions of PDVSA money.

I really hope that's just a rumor, only because I don't know how Perez could find the funds to stay in a seat like Maldonado can. I dunno what kind of backing Perez has, but the 41 million Euro Maldonado has could be a factor if it's the truth.

Not that interesting really its just Ferrari looking out for itself. Kimi misses two races gets healthy for when he starts driving for them plus Lotus has even less of a chance to slink ahead of them in the constructors championship. All Ferrari needs to do is be concerned with Mercedes now.

I'm not so sure Ferrari can have a say in that at this point, can it? I mean, Kimi's contract with Lotus isn't over until the end of the season, even if he is leaving after that. Maybe I'm just out of the loop though.

I imagine it's just a matter of choice wording to Kimi and some persuasion. It's not impossible to convince someone to do something for his health especially when he is in a bad situation as it is not being paid for a season that doesn't matter to him anymore. Kimi like most drivers care about the championship and if that's gone then you're racing to get more money for your team but if your team isn't going to be your team next year then...why not?

BBC confirms Magnusson to replace Perez at McLaren.

Now hopefully Lotus will get the investment package completed so they can sign Hulkenberg instead of Crashonardo.
