Put a deposit down today... 325iX coupe

So I had found a 325iX 5 speed coupe in Houston. Beautiful little car, I was planning on selling my Mustang to pick it up, but then decided I wanted to go to Orlando for a BMW school. Sold my Mustang, used the money from the sale to move down here to Orlando, but really regretted not picking up the iX coupe... So I called the owner today (six months later), and he hadn't sold the car. He said he wanted it to go to a good home, and had been waiting for the right buyer to come by. We talked for a bit, and I put a deposit down on it. I wont be able to pick it up until May, when I move back to Texas.

But I am super excited this will be a fun first e30, I drove the car six months ago, it has a freshly rebuilt motor and comes with an extra motor, extra center diff, and various e30 parts I will go through later.

It is super clean, everything works on it. More pics to follow, really excited to pick it up.

    The mustang I sold:

        That foxbody looks amazing!

Crazy that you got the e30 too, and that he was willing to hold it until May. That may be the longest e30 purchase in history, haha.

Both cars look awesome....but I would have hard time choosing the E30 over the mustang.

I recently became a BMW technician. I have owned 3 foxes. Will someday own another, but I have always wanted an iX coupe. Plus working in the dealer will mean parts at discount and special tools are available. I feel like iX coupes in general are few and far between, but a 5 speed and a southern car to boot; I just couldn't pass it up.

An update from the seller parts as to parts list that come with it and some background of the car.

                      parts I have
4 x 14" bottle cap wheels, no tires
plastic front and rear bumpers with hydraulic shocks
1 disassembled black leather drivers seat
1 assembled black leather passenger seat
mtech II style spoiler- primed. not sure if its original
                      front leather bra
spare rear differential. I think it needs a viscous coupling
                      vane air flow sensor
                      2 intake manifolds, 1 black, 1 bare
                      "885" cylinder head,
                      iX specific engine block assembly,
iX specific oil pan, I think the output needs a new bearing
                      exhaust manifold,
iX specific oil pump, The pressure regulator was jamming, needs rebuild
I was going to use the above parts to build a stroker turbo motor, so all the basic stuff is pretty much there.
                      Coolant expansion tank, almost new.
2 new rear hubs, need bearings to install, parking brake does not work correctly, need to replace rear wheel bearings to fix.
                      passanger mirror assembly- black.
                      original master cylinder
set of new bmw spark plugs.
                      1 spare antenna

                      work done
replaced suspension with koni adjustable with h&r springs
rebuilt shifter linkage, used 1.9l z3 shift lever "short throw"
Replaced master cylinder with M5 unit
rebuilt engine at around 225,000 miles
-new mahle pistons .5mm oversize .04mm block to piston clearance- triple checked
                      -new bearings
                      -rebuilt head
                      -new valve guides
                      -new valves
                      -new rockers and hardware
-new output bearing in oil pan
the head that came on the car was aftermarket and was discarded
rebuilt odometer at around same mileage, I caught it quickly, so mileage is only off by a few hundred miles at most.
replaced transfer case (courtesy of Mr. Sticker) they blew the original by running the car on the dyno
                      replaced front diff
replaced sunroof panel, it was rusting (common on E30s)
repaired r/r quarter panel (it was damaged when I purchased vehicle)
replaced factory radio with cd unit. sounds excellent
                      replaced all blown speakers
replaced all brakes including parking brakes recently
                      replaced missing engine splash cover
since engine rebuild oil was changed every 3-5k miles with royal purple 15w40
                      redline MTL in transmission
                      replaced power antenna
                      replaced windshield
replaced rear window due to major scratching.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.
