**ADDED PICS** Going to look at a 325ix. what do i need to know?

I just thought i should ask what i should look for on an ix because im not that familiar with them. It has been parked in a local advanced auto parts. the guy works from 9-5 so im going tomorrow to check it out. Its a 5 speed 89-91 brilliantrot i think it is. Looks like its in great shape exterior and interior wise, but the right front wheel is slanted or cambered for some reason. Anyone know what it could be? Exhaust is shot (says an employee).

How much would be a good price?
What should i check?

Make sure the transfer case isn't dying. That would be a pain to fix.

Went today and talked to him today. Its a customers car and it has a rusted strut therefore the right wheel camber. He said that she doesn't want to mess with the car anymore so im thinking i can get it cheap! Checked underneath no oil leaks, transfer case is clean. he didn't have the keys so i could here it or see the engine. gave him my number to give to her or he said he will talk to her and get back to me

make sure all the cv boots aren't ripped because front axles aren't cheap. Also check for other rust very carefully. And i would definitely check out that "rusted strut."

Front axles dont need to be replaced if they are bad. You can rebuild them. I know I looked into it when I had my ix.

Also know that ix struts and housings are ix only.

Thanks guys. There is a right ix strut on ebay for $200. If this guy calls back ill probably buy it.

just cause the boots are torn doesnt mean anything. I've replaced all the front cv boots on both my IXs.

if it starts, making sure to do a jack test. jack the rear tires up off the ground and see if the car moves forward and back under the power of the awd. use a jack with wheels, obviously...

more pics. And also 166,000 miles if its working odo. CV boots are good. its leaking PS fluid. inside driver door handle is missing only rust i saw was under the battery tray. interior needs some help. The right front strut and exhaust needs help.

After all this what do you think is a good price from what ive told you?

I have my doubts that this is the only problem with the front suspension. If only the perch were bad, it wouldn't sit on an angle like that. More likely that is a bad upper strut mount or bent insert. Dont buy any parts until you own the car and actually check it out.
