    e30 with 9500 miles, ebay

Saw this vert on ebay. I like the color and seems to be in mint condition. Don't know if its worth the 15 g's though and hard to believe it only has 9500 miles.

    wow.
15 grand isnt exactly outrageous. if someone could get this for 10 grand that would be very very worth it imo

IDK about cars with low mileage like that.

My questions would be, has it been maintained. How often have the changed the oil? Bushes? Shocks? ect ect things that expire of time weather you use the car or not.

Its all well and good to have a low mileage car but if they have not maintained it well then it kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.

Still very clean and cool non the less.

Because verts are more likely to be an extra car IMHO. My dad did this with his z3, he had a nice sedan for daily and kept the z for the weekend.

He doesn't seem like the type to let it sit without keeping it maintained and running it here and there to keep the seals intact.

Rare to find a plastic bumper car in that condition, with so few miles, and in that color. That color, and Royal Blue, are very hard to find. This dude knew what he was buying when he bought it new. 'Verts and M3's are the E30's to preserve, as coupes and sedanes are a junkyard dime per dozen. 15 g's is up there, if you go by "it's just a really nice E30 'vert" logic, but in collector logic, it's priced just right. If I were to buy this car, I wouldn't modify it one bit, and garage it just for a sunny weekend cruiser.

If you do buy it, be sure to do every maintenance procedure in the book. Fluids/belts/hoses/seals deteriorate over time. For that car, I'd even be sure to get only genuine BMW parts from a dealer. You bought it good, so keep it good. It's priced like that for a reason. I bet it even has the "Original BMW Top" badge above the rear view mirror. Which most 'vert owners nowadays don't even know existed.

Something I noticed after looking at the pics, is that there are wheel balancing weights on the wheels. This means that the tires have been changed at a tire shop, as BMW installed the balance weights on the inside of the wheels for cosmetic reasons. Of course the guy didn't want the car sitting on 23 year old rubber, but wouldn't he have asked them to put the weights on the inside if he pays attention to detail? That's evidence the car has put more miles on over time.

reread the ad, he mentioned the new tires.

he also mentioned fluids and the timing belt being replaced very recently.

the other thing to consider when buying a car like this is that it's only worth the money you paid for it by continuing to not drive it. as soon as you start putting miles on it it's gonna lose most of its value.

the price of 15k for that car is very cheap considering the condition. personally, i am not a big fan of laguna green but hey....

one thing to note: in 91, this car cost well over 30 grand. i would guess it was pretty close to 34k. putting less than 10,000 miles on that car over 22 years only to sell it for half price is indeed a travesty. if you were to assume that he paid 800 bucks a year to insure it over this period, that amounts to over 17k alone. the price he is asking for the car doesn't even cover this.

the only thing i can compare this to is its kind of like not fucking your girlfriend so she is more appealing to the next guy who dates her.
