ZOUNDS what a build! Hardly any original car left - it's all cage.

Question - Were the Daytona Prototypes actually a Cayenne-based V8? I never knew that. Funny that Porsche NA didn't want anything to do with accepting the manufacturers trophy!

There's another 914 buildthread out there of a guy who started with a similar cage and ended with a "monocoque" and detachable front- and rear spaceframe. I think he ran a Subaru turbo engine. If only i could find it anywhere.

Hah, found it! Same forum http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.p...pic=84842&st=0

I wonder how many more years we have of those kind of 914 projects. It used to be, they were the bastard stepchild of the Porsche world and people practically gave them away. But I’ve seen the prices creeping back up on them. Used to be a ton of them in Autocross, completely modified beyond recognition.

^^ Agreed. I put together a bare bones budget for a home-made 914/6GT conversion with the big flares, rep Fuch wheels, and a used SC 3-liter, and the source car was a tiny part of the project. Now the cost of the car plus used 911 engines has made that project out of reach, even painting it myself.

I am also a Datsun pick up NUT:eek: Put the two together and you get to look into the twisted mind of Bob. My project is a combo of a 1966 L520 & a 1990 Mazda Miata (MX5). So far I've remov...

don't think this has been posted yet.... no expense spared, incredibly detailed, bare frame build of a 993 GT2 EVO

best thing is that the car is actually done so you get the satisfaction of reading the thread beginning to end

993 Forum - 993 GT2 EVO build thread "Winter project 2014" - Ok, the project has officially started today. Once my kid was sleeping, I took a bottle of good scotch with me to the garage, put on some Metallica and started tearing into the car. Off comes the supercharged 3.6 and in goes the twinplug, twin turbo 3.8 EVO...

^^ I like the way that car sits on its wheels.

Hey, how about an Alfa 8C with 8000 miles on copart? What could you do with the pieces, hmm....

Apparently they're all carbon fiber, bonded to a steel chassis, and everything forward of the windshield is ruined.
