Batteries... Group 48 seems to be disappearing

Has anyone else had issues finding a decent battery lately? I had an Autozone one which has a three year warranty no questions asked far better than Sears or other sources. But when i brought it in for an exchange they don't carry them anymore.

They refunded me the full 112 for the battery and 12 for core and 7.25% tax but I have no battery at the moment.

I just got a new battery a couple of days ago from my local CarQuest. All I remember is that it was vented and was rated at 700ccA. I can run out and check what it is.

Group 48 is 800 CCA with about 650-700 reserve. We don't have Carquest in my area. But a Napa just opened guess I could check them.

find a group 49, about 2 inches longer, fits right in the E30 battery tray and has about 200 more CCA, usually for the same price, or a few bucks more.

x2. I've sworn by Interstate for a very long time. I use them exclusively in my own cars, and any shop I've worked at, I've swapped the stocking brand to Interstate. I put 15 years of experience/use on the brand.

depending on the brand, group 48 interchanges with 91 and group 49 interchanges with 93.

Group 49/93 is the longer one that fits nicely in the factory trunk tray.

Costco Kirkland brand by Johnson controls....3 year full replacement 100 mo prorate. No testing...no questions asked return policy. U just have to remove and install it yourself.

Costco no longer stocks an e30 battery. I brought a Kirkland with an 84 mo warranty back for replacement and wound up going elsewhere. What they offered me for a warranty refund was about the same as the core charge on the new one so I passed or I would have been sitting there without a battery and no net $$ :)
