If you go diagonally over a speed bump you WILL smack/scrape the pan.

Best method is take it straight forward as the pan is linear to your wheels. IS Lips can flex if they contact.

OP go around the bumps. E36's are worse off than us.
You seriously take speed bumps head on with your car?

OP drive to the side so you only have one wheel go over it. Maybe better luck that way

Just don't go too fast over the speed bumps or you will pope the tires.

This is 100% correct and I've tried to explain it to so many people. The two front wheels will help the pan be as high off the ground as possible. If you hit it one at a time you'll be straddling the bump with your wheels and putting your oil pan on it.

There is no way the frame rails are lower than the oil pan...Also if you ARE that low, then you gotta be bagged, in which case raise up the car in parking lots...

Yes even with my ride height.

It's embarrassing to see someone go all jdm angled when their lip is no where near the bump or barely grazes it. Your IS lip is designed not to come off hitting shit while moving forward, only reverse.

oh, it comes off if you hit something moving forward. this includes, but is not limited to: speed bumps, curbs, and concrete freeway barriers.

to the OP: you're doing it wrong.
