    good places to live

I'm looking to move out west I'm thinking Arizona or California I thought I'd ask if anyone can recommend a good place that I wouldn't have to worry about taking a wrong turn and end up in the wrong "hood" if you know what I mean
I hear its really nice out there but no-one has really told me a good area
Anyone live around Tempe or Gilbert Arizona?
    Thanks for any input

You could always move to Minnesota. I probably will never leave. I love it here, but it's an acquired taste with our 6 month winters with -40 degree weather and our summers with 100+ degree weather.

    Roads are shit though.

What are you looking for in a city?

Phoenix area is nice because you have a sizable city with lots to do, and at the same time the desert, mountains, and foresty northern AZ are all very close.

Tucson is smaller, but has a lot of soul.

I can't think of anywhere in Tucson where I would feel uneasy, except maybe if I had to leave my car overnight, or if I was a scantily dressed hoe walking in the wee hours. I feel Phx is the same way.

Just be ready for the heat if you come out here. Also, much bigger BMW/E30 scene in Phx, naturally.
          Different strokes for different folks.

Arizona is pretty nice. Lived there through my high school years and did college at UofA. i lived up in peoria when i was in phoenix. Mesa is a very nice part of town along with Scottsdale but Scottsdale is pretty expensive. The heat isnt that bad and youll adapt. After about a year you blood actually thins out to help the body cope with the heat. One day ill retire in AZ.

Northern New Mexico is very nice. I love'd Santa Fe and north. Taos, up into Angel Fire. Great roads. From the Rio Grande gorge and desert up to ski country in 30 minutes or less.

Im born cape cod hospital .lived three states washington California and Mass.I'm moving to washington june.California is not what it used to be.It pretty much a extension of mexico now.over populated over priced and majority people materialistic douche bags. You would like Washington people use turn signals.People much friendlier and down to earth.Your money will go tons further.Yes rains but I hate the heat and most places you can afford in Cali are not on the ocean so its hot.It did not snow last year were I'm moving in washington. If you make over $150,000 a year than you can be middle class in Cali.Best to you in decision :)
