Edit: I daily at this height and have received several compliments on the stance. It's tall enough where I don't worry about much in the road, but short enough that my jack is too tall to jack from the front subframe anymore.

I'd much rather go with GC as there is virtually no modification needed, the only thing that concerns me is adjusting the height and messing with the preload at the same time but if they are a good height out of the box I'd be happy!
So anyone got a picture of an e30 with GC at the stock height (out of the box not messed with)

I'm pretty sure there's no pre-load on GC springs.

it's simply a spring on an adjuster - the spring gets loaded the same no matter where you adjust it too. the only difference is how much travel you have left, but if you use their strut housings it shouldn't be a problem as they've been shortened.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't confident enough to post it for sure.

Just another question, anyone know if it's possible to do a projector retrofit on these cars http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=24, I've recently done one on my current car but just unsure if it's possible with the e30's headlights

yeah thats not too bad at all, a nice respectable height but whats the ride like (drift spec or firm but not back breaking)

With the rates I've got it's firm but not back breaking. It rides nicer than my hotchkis equipped Dakota did, and I daily'd that for a decade

It depends, each state is different, but if you change the engine to something not released from factory, you need to get it engineered and mod plated. Qld is a Little more relaxed then other states last time I checked. But you can register the car, do the conversion, then worry about the mod plate if you sell it.
