Insurance stuff looks like they are going to get away without taking care of me, and storage unit ins has a stipulation in the contract that waives all liability and notes that they recommend no more than 5k worth of items in the unit. That's 2 sets of wheels and a pair of recaros. Some that's kind of a joke as well.

I don't understand why would thiefs risk time in jail stealing something that is least desirable in E30 market.
That is 1986 4 door, engine is M20. There is just not much they can make selling the parts. There is no quick money to be made on these parts, to get maximum out of each part you would have to sell them on the forums or ebay, something that thief would avoid.

I call bullshit on the wheels story unless either party releases PM's or gives evidence, I've had plenty of incidents where people have wanted something specific done, and I gave them an outline on time, and they cried wolf a week after when the deal in question was to take at least a month. For all we know the buyer didn't like and got pissed and is trying to make Van look bad. But it could be either way, Van could indeed be a scammer. But before you guys go oh Van got what was coming, you should want to hear the story..... Not just take one guys word for it.

I wasn't going to further derail the thread, but since Wschnitz inquired I do have several PM's and plenty of texts.. There are plenty of 'clean' threads on the internet and on the forum regarding the stolen car.

First message from Curt to me 6-1-2010 after I mentioned that I had a set of 15x7 5x120 Ronal Turbos--

I too had trouble with Curt shipping items in a timely manner. I however only had to wait about two months (maybe more/less) but I did eventually get my parts. Through the whole process Curt acted much like what Thor has reported.

I hope you find your car in one piece and move on from this with a huge life lesson .

This really isn't the place to post things like that. This is not about a deal that happened in the past. This is about a very special project that someone poured their heart and soul into for many years, that was stolen by some piece of shit, who obviously never learned not to take things that didn't belong to them.
