    Welllllllllllllllllll,

Long day. Started up my car this morning and it was kind of smoking (oil). Drove up to Kirkland and strapped it down, and it really started smoking on the dyno. We dditn want to go too much further with it smoking like it was. I saw 211hp at around 3k or so rpm, running very lean (probably round 17-18:1). So now i need to see whta the oil burning is, it is either an oil seal or head gasket, or valve stem seals. I'm going to leakdown test it soon.

I also got pulled over for speeding, and exhaust, and license plates, and tail lights. got a warning. I'll see whats wrong later, kinda tired, and pretty frustrated.

It was nice to see you guys and hang out!!

To bad about the car, you really need to go threw everything and sort it out!!

It's like a super ETA, tons of torque, 3500rpm redline!

I think once it gets all sorted out, you will be close to 300w HP and 350 torque.

Then you will have a WHOLE other sort of problems that show up, like broken mounts, kill the trans, and make your tires cry!!

To bad mine is still faster!

                  Alright guys,

It doesnt smoke anymore. I disconnected the breather tube that i fabbed up the other day, and i guess that was the problem. I need so see if it leaks still. I am glad its not something more major. I also tuned megasquirt on my own time today and yesterday and made the car run very well, and FAST. There is no more detonation, like yesterday on the dyno. It runs very well now. I will reschedule for the dyno soon, but need to make sure nothing else is going to go wrong. Any ideas for the breather? Or why it may have caused it to burn oil? I had it routed though a filter, then to the pipe before the turbo.

Mike, just you wait. It will come along.

                    HA, so you think! :D

I know it will be much faster in a straight line!!

Bring it on over and we can fab up a breather, You can either vent it threw a little filter to atmosphere, or put it in PRE turbo on the manifold, in a slight vacuum, that is the better way to do it!!

I had it running through a filter pre turbo in vacuum, so not sure what was happening. Maybe too much vacuum from the turbo? That thing sucks a LOT. I might just run it through a filter, I have one sitting in my garage, just need to hook it up. We'll see. Once I get my new suspension and wheels/tires, i'll be golden for the track. Just need practice, lol, that would be cool if you were my instructor haha.

How are you handling the slight vacuum required in the oil pan and valve cover??

Stefan went trough a valve cover gasket before we fixed that,
the pan, valve cover and gasket seals can blow from the boost if it gets into the engine(oil pan area)

                        Let me know,

still 211 at 3000 is only a tell tale of how much you will be pushing at 5500+

Hey Matt, just see what works best for you on the open road, then keep that setup going into your dyno day.

Welcome On Board!!!!! Matt...about htis "damm problem" I asked before but not got any answer from you...

Anywas...I have the same problem...but not so much....I can see from ny rear mirror when I shift after the red line under heavy lods some smoke...also at the stop light after runing hard mostly, I smell a bit of burned oil...

This is what I did before...took the breather valve cover...sealed the TB hose....and fromt the valave cover vaccum I run a hose from it to the sucker pipe of my turbo....still was getting a lot of oil in that pipe, then I added a OWM BMW Parts that comes in the M50/52 engines...a device that separates the oil fromt he vapors fumes, at the end had a bottle that contains all(sopously) oil and ran it to the return oil form the turbo to the pan.

Guess what? didn't work so good, still smelling burn oil.

Now, after assambled my head I modified the tube that goes from the manifold (head) that breath and connects to the block...I sealed the top part of the tube and pute a pipe next to it...so, from the head won't breath or drain any poil to the block, it will suck the vapor fumes from the block from that modified tube...but

Guess what!!?? still smelling oil burned and still seeing a bit of smoke after shifteing under high loads and red line... any other idea?
