    To me, M4 = Rifle.

I can foresee BMW hitting a small slump. I work at an Audi dealership now, which is ironic because it is not only BMW's main rival, but I also used to make fun of these cars. While I was at training this weekend, the instructor mentioned to me that there are a lot of people going to newer BMWs because of included maintenance and they got a cheaper lease deal. Not about performance or handling or power; just because it was "cheaper to lease". That shows the new kind of target market that BMW is going after. and you know what? Let them. I firmly believe that it takes a swift kick in the ass to set someone or something straight. Can't be number one forever.

With all that said, I love older BMWs and I still love my E30 and E46. My E53 could blow up tomorrow and I could care less. lol

E46 was Bangle, albeit one of his more conservative designs. See you do like Bangle afterall!

This has happened with Mercedes and Audi. Mercedes continues to offer what they call attractive lease prices....Amusing in the way they try to drum up sales.

crappy engine? People have tuned that thing to like 450hp 400tq+ no bolt ons just tune. BMW actual tones down all their turbo cars for drive-ability.

            No, it wasn't.
The e46 was penned by Erik Goplen, under then product developement chief Wolfgang Reitzle(sp?) Chris Bangle was head of design at the time, but didn't design it.

Bangle first solo design was one of the slab sided " flame surfacing" designs, like the first z4, and 2001 7 series.

As for the M4, I am really curious to see what sales are like in China, and to the Chinese market particularly.

The number 4 is not a good thing in thier culture

I made a gross error by saying he designed the E46. He was merely head of design at the time. I even found a few conflicting magazine articles on the subject. I was wrong and I have brought much Internet shame upon myself and my family. My girlfriend will post a video of my self immolation later this evening.

I kind of like how it looks, just now how big it is.

If I were in the market I'd buy a 1 series coupe before they go out of production. It's probably going to the only endearing new BMW for a long time...

its an s5 with a different badge on it..... bmw doesn't give a shit about what an e30 forum think,s they care about selling cars to all the idiots who don't know whether their 1er is front or rear wheel drive. The softer they go, the bigger the market until they hit the tipping point of going to soft. Which they may well be at with the new ats consistently ranking higher in driving dynamics than bmw. All that said I love my e90 which many people loathe but compared to its rivals it was heads and tails above,,,, but I still think my e30 is more fun.

Because most of you hate it, it will be a huge hit.

You guys need to think $$$$$$ not history of the marque. BMW is a business and even at M-branch they care about the bottom line. Bigger, faster, and more gadgety sells. Apealling to purist fanboys doesn't. Never will.
