Fenders can be rolled and modified to look fine with some work depending on how crazy the fitment. However, I noticed many people simply don't bother. I have seen many stance cars with burnt up (yes burnt) rear arches because of constant rubbing. So let's not pretend everyone is doing it right either. Who knows...maybe they plan on putting flares on later but I doubt it. Maybe he figured it would clearance itself out...lol. There's still many, many people out there who are all about stance first and foremost....by any means necessary. Form > function.

I don't understand how somebody could bring themselves to compromise such a clean car, but I guess that's what happens when you're infected with the Stanceworks mentality.

I don't see how any of these cars would be enjoyable to actually drive.

Shitty fenders aren't only relegated to "stanced" cars ;)

            That's a track car
            Function > Form

It's meant to be driven on a track, so if something breaks or there is catastrophic failure, no one will be injured, or the is an incredibly diminished chance of anyone being caught in crossfire.

On a street car though? If there is catastrophic failure, get ready to pay someone's repair or medical bill

Calm down. I never said being a great customer was a bad thing.

Although doing it yourself is not always the same as taking the cheap "cut corners" route.

I work on my own shit because I'm obsessive and don't trust anyone else to touch it.

no worries i must have misunderstood.
and yes i agree doing it yourself is not always the cheap cut corners way i was just trying to show the other extreme end of things.

i would absurdly LOVE to work on my cars but unfortunately life gets in the way :(

That's the dumbest logic I think I have ever heard... Based on that logic, then why do race cars bother with helmets, HANS systems, full cages, etc.? I mean, you're saying that the only person being put at risk with those fenders (even though I don't believe they are a safety risk in the least bit) is yourself...

Hammered to shit fenders are ugly, yes. I agree with that. But if the tires clear and don't rub then they aren't a safety risk, correct?

Yeah, this shit is stupid and unsafe. BUT, NOT EVERYONE IS LIKE THAT. That's what you people don't seem to understand.

Of course not everyone is like that. That's obvious. That's why there is indeed a right and wrong way to do things. However, let's face it...there's a vast majority of kids out there doing stupid shit to look cool. Let me reiterate that I like the look of a nicely "stanced" car but not to the degree that huge compromises are made for the sake of aesthetics. This particular "fad" just happens to be a potentially dangerous one. As an example, there are a few tires being sold on CL with 80-90% tread left for ridiculously cheap. Wanna know why? because "they just have slight cracks/wear on the sidewalls, no big deal." You have to ask yourself, if it's no big deal then why did they replace them? What kind of contact patch do you have with a 195-215 tire with so much camber that only the inner edge of the thread and sidewalls are worn/cracking?

Only if the owner is a moron (yes, the "stance" community has many more morons than the other communities) and does it the wrong way. But to put that notion of "doing stupid shit to look cool" on the whole of StanceWorks is incorrect in the most basic, stereotypical sense.
