you said "experts". they look like they were written by somebody who did a quick google search on the +'s and -'s of different drive types. actually, all 3 articles look like they could have been written by the same person, or plagiarized from each other.

just because you see an opinion everywhere doesn't make it correct. opinions are like assholes, remember.. also, I'm pretty sure everything I've read on the internet is true. ;)

So, leaving aside the descent of this thread into childish abuse.

I said RWD in summer and FWD in winter because it's not about drifting or loss of control in the winter, in the city. It's about weight over the drive traction wheels. It's about being able to get moving when the light turns green, up-hill, on the polished ice with just bit of rain falling and pedestrians are having a hard time walking. FWD and AWD cars move off, RWD ones don't. Even BMWs and Mercs with good tires can't get out of the way and hold up traffic. There's a limit to driver skill when the drive wheel traction just. isn't. there.

Skill testing question: why is a hand-brake useful in the above "uphill on the ice" conditions?
Bonus; why is a hand-brake especially useful if differential isn't limited-slip?

The Dodge Omni GLH...which had a RWD version over in Europe that the chassis for the Omni was based off of called the Lotus Sunbeam.

                      BS we didn't get it.

the sentra SE-R 1998-2003 would IMO have been the second coming of the e30 had it been RWD

My vote goes for the ford mondeo/fusion.

I love front wheel drive and rear wheel drive. depends on the application. in bad weather FWD is unreal. With snow tires on i plowed through foot high snow in my clubman S. thing is a beast. but for racing and spirited driving RWD
