you can still spin a FWD car. luckily, people who can't drive a RWD don't normally buy them.

also, if they had proper equipment (tires meant for ice/snow) then it becomes more unlikely. people spinning their cars left and right in front of you probably have all seasons..

RWD w/ LSD + snow tires is far better than FWD in the snow... and pretty much everywhere else that I can think of.

somebody above said "hit the brakes spin" regarding RWD... lol enough said.

2nd Gen (90-95) Acura Legend Type II. Could have been a badass RWD with the v6 option and 6-spd gearbox..

Nope. You're thinking of the Inspire/Vigor. Similar to the Accord (same chassis) but with shared features between that and the Vigor, with a goofy 2.0L or 2.5L (G20-G25) straight-5. They were never RWD. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...nspire_001.JPG

my 325is with balding all seasons was actually easier to drive in the snow than my mazda was with snow tires.

I don't know about the terrible Californian winters that you seem to have so much experience with, so I can't really comment here.

Although, if you lose traction in the front while accelerating, choose to add another input into your drive wheels, and expect to regain traction, you're going to have a bad time. When you're in a RWD and your tires start to spin, you can still steer somewhat, regardless of your amount of wheelspin. That doesn't really sound out of control to me.

I just drive this in the winter.... problem solved. LSD + mud tires does great in snow, not so much on ice but nothing does good on ice. It hardly ever goes into 4wd unless I'm playing in the snow!

                    1st gen Probe GT.

That engine is a torque MONSTER! Put a $15 MBC on there, hike it up to 14 psi, and even with everything else stock that ass end would've been more fun than (At the time) Pamela Anderson's.

4th Gen Maxima's with the VQ. Dear lord would that have made an already awesome car simply epic.

I came here to say Honda Prelude, too.

I've owned one for two years. I would have quit looking at other cars if it had been rear wheel drive.

Well, my 23 years of legal driving experience, in all conditions (nope, I haven't dealt with treacherous California winters my whole life) says you're wrong, but let's hear it from real experts...
