You're renting. You're not buying. Spending money on Capital improvements on the house your renting is the landlords job, not yours. Unless they are cutting you a price break on rent... dont do that shit. Cleaning the driveway/garage.... ok. Painting the garage floor? No way.
Just my $.02
Congrats on finding a good new place either way Jordan.
Well if he makes a mess and stains the concrete they may make him pay for it. And since Jordan probably is going to work on his car, and probably going to make a mess, it would be worth it to put a small investment on a floor that oil wont soak into.Rollin' with a Geistkuchen

Lol thats not even a garage, You just park your cars in your house!
Looks like that should be a pool room or something and you took a wall out to fit cars in it :)Rollin' with a Geistkuchen

Awesome, Jordan. Congrats on the garage. I might be moving soon to a house with a garage, I'd be so happy. We went to a barbeque at some friend's house last night (her dad's new $1.3 milllion house, to be exact), and he has a 3-bay garage, fully finished inside, textured and painted. I was so jealous.
I have a driveway at my house now, but no garage. But still, a driveway is at least better than a fucking apartment parking lot. But I do have to garages at my disposal if I need them, the 2 car garage at my mom's house, and the single car at my in-law's house, with radiant in-floor heat. :D

Yeah but kansas you automatically lose for having a dirt driveway :)
Jordan, glad you've got your own bay now. Looks really big for a 1 car.
College and parking my car outside has basically ruined my car. Door dings out the ass and my quarter panels decided now would be a good time to oxidize. It was spoiled before college, and then it got washed about once a semester. At least now I found a spicot in the parking lot so I've been washing it every week or two.

Kristin also works at Lowes, and get everything on the cheap. All the epoxy needed to seal the floor for $5. Not really a wallet killing operation.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

Good deal on the garage. Both my homes have garages and I have fully textured , painted, and recessed lighting in one. I have finished the recessed lighting and have now moved on to locating and installing all my recepticles. I will be pressure washing and deep cleaning the floor before I roll my own epoxy paint on the garage floor. I will be using the high end stuff that you can essentially do a full standing burnout on and not have the stuff even scratched or peeled.
If you were closer I would offer to help out mudding, texturing, and painting your garage.

I miss my 2 car carport. I took it for granted until my dad had a bright idea to close it in to expand the house.
Now we have a big room that I don't even go in, and an uneven uncovered driveway that we constantly have to juggle cars. We've put up a big canopy tent, but it's still uneven.
I don't even try to put all 4 of my wheels in the air. I've tried other cars, and we've dropped a few cars off the jack. May be fine for all the other POS cars that I help my friends with, but you can be damn sure I'm not letting my car do that.
