there was 1 auto produced for NA in the '88MY but it was probably for demonstration. Canada also got 4 doors instead of 2 doors.

Here's what I was confused by:
In this post you say all of these numbers are US numbers (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...5&postcount=23)
However, in this post (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...66&postcount=1) you say that this 6346 number is for all of North America. This is what confused me, does North America include Canada? Because if it does then it doesn't make any sense because if you take the US production numbers from the first referenced post you get: 1715 + 2797 + 977 + 857 = 6346 so it would be as if Canada didn't get any '88 iX's which can't be true.
Now, my thought (and you can probably tell me if I'm right or wrong) is that the US production numbers are actually North America's production numbers, including Canada.
This makes much more sense to me because if the US production values are in fact correct, that means that out of the 2,095 2 door manual iX's sent to the US, 1,715 (82%) were from '88 leaving only 380 to be split between 1989, 1990 and 1991. If the US production numbers actually included Canada it would mean that there would be a split in the 1,715 number between 2 and 4 doors, making it much more reasonable.

sorry, the numbers include both US and Canada. there's no breakdown between the two, except you can see which ones go to Canada because they are 4-doors. Also there were a handful of automatics for the Canadian market. So not all of the 1715 '88 cars were 2-door manuals. All of the US cars were, but the Canadian cars were 4-doors and some were automatics.
confused yet? :p
