Is it broken off in something? If there's enough bolt protruding from the surface, try a stud puller.

Then just drill it out oversize, tap it, and use an oversized bolt.

...that'll be last resort. for now i have faith that i'm going to find something that'll bite that hard ass bolt...the drill bit wouldn't even cut. took me 20 min to drill 5-6 mm!Comment

I recently had a problem...
I bought this to guide my pilot hole, works with bolts sheared above, flush, or below the surface:
Then I bought more cobalt drill bits, left hand drill if you can find them in the hopes that the bolt will unscrew itself during drilling from the vibration.
Then I bought these to extract the bolt:

The vibration for drilling for an hour or two loosened mine, so the extractors hardly even dug in when I twisted it out.

GEt a left handed drill bit and it will drill it out for you. i did it today on a tranny pan bolt that someone broke.Comment
