    Future Classics Thread

The other day I was thinking about how I could have easily picked up an e30 m3 for $10k-15k when I first got into e30s (2001). This lead me to think what other cars out there are towards the bottom of the market (+/- 10 years old) right now and would more thank likely start to appreciate in a few years.

edit: to clean this up i'm seperating this into 3 categories

    1. Most likely to appreciate (think e30 m3 territory)
really trying to keep this list around 10-20 years old as thats where these types of cars seem to flatline in price)
    - e39 m5
    - e46 M3
    - z3 M coupe (s54 especially)
    - x5 4.Xis
    - mk4 R32
    - Ap1 s2000
    - 2000ish GTO
    - EVO 8
    - STI
    - FD RX7
    - Mazda Speed 6
    - B5 S4
    - TT 225
    - Terminator Cobras
    - E55 AMG
    - 355
    - 575/550
    - GMC Syclone/Typhoon
    - Impala SS
    - Cobra R
    - Viper
    - 996 Turbo
    - 1M
    - Acura NSX
    - Lotus Esprit
    - CL 63 Black
    - 500e

    2. General good buys which haven't appreciated much yet, but should a good investment as long as mileage/condition is great - think Mtech2
Several in this list are here because they are getting close to 20-25+ years old and still haven't seen a great delta in value:

    - Mk4 337/GLI/20th
    - 944 turbo s
    - ZHP
    - 190e Cosworth
    - FC RX-7 Turbo
    - DSM, AWD turbo, 1g/2g, Galant VR4
    - 3000GT/Stealth VR4
    - e36 M3
    - 944 turbo
    - 968 gts
    - 928

    3. Cult/fun cars that will never completely loose value (ie e30 325i) :

    - e46 manual touring
    - mk4 manual TDI
    - b6/b7 wagons
    - e46 330i manual
    - mk4 vr6/1.8t
    - Rx8
    - Audi 200
    - Mercury Marauder
    - F-150 Lightning
    - srt4
    - 135i
    - 2nd gen turbo mr2
    - xr4ti (granted they are about free right now)

oh and feel free to give feedback if i've mis-categorized a car. My knowledge of JDM and American cars is pretty limited

MK4 R32's are already holding their values quite decently (low mileage and unmolested of course). I sold mine back in October. Great car for sure!

I've always thought that stock low mileage B5 S4's and BMW Z3M Coupe's would be on the future list of appreciating cars.

aren't there some mid/late 90s mustangs that are getting pretty valuable? iirc they were factory supercharged.

03-04 cobra's to be exact. Those things still command a pretty penny even after being 10 years old. I've come to the realization that when I have enough money to buy one as a toy, they will either be beat to hell, or well beyond my means

Their independent rear suspension will be a classic if nothing else. Buy one right now if you ever plan a foxbody IRS swap. I could see them going from $1,500 to $3,000 very quickly.

Ferrari 575/550, I mean seriously if I had the extra cash I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
