To me classics are shorter number production runs. If your gonna include the Neon then lump in a Colbalt SS or a Saturn Redline. Most will giggle at those. Sorry my nickel on that, Viper sure will.Comment

these next five would only qualify in OEM/low mileage form since they are already pretty old and haven't appreciated very much yet:
- 190e Cosworth
- FC RX-7 Turbo
- DSM, AWD turbo, 1g/2g, Galant VR4
- 3000GT/Stealth VR4
- e36 M3
any others...?
edit:
I also thought of listing a series of cars that may not appreciate significantly but are "cult-ish" enough to just flat-line in value over time

- e46 330i manual

Mazda Speed 6 nothing overly special
Audi TT Think it's too common of a car.Comment

I was on the fence about the TT 225. the only thing that tipped me over the edge of listing as classic is that iconic design which inspired many other audi designs and the 225 will be the one to get.Comment

What generation? First one was just a v6. Like the TT but would never consider buying one, hated trying to look out any window and the new beetle is very much like that feels like your riding in a bathtub.
Like having decent visibility. Why TT/ Beetle would never be on my list.Comment

From wiki:
Auto Express magazine describe it as "Regarded as one of VW’s best-ever drivers’ cars".[2] The VR6 model was listed as one of the "25 Cars You Must Drive Before You Die" by the British magazine, Car and 'By far the most desirable version of the Corrado' by Auto Express.[2] In MSN Autos 'Cool Cars We Miss' feature they listed the Corrado among its top eight "Gone but not forgotten: a short list of cars once loved, still missed", describing it in the following manner: "The VW Corrado VR6 is coveted because of its seductive styling, road handling capabilities and its role as trailblazer, introducing the VR6 to the American market."[3]Comment
