Nice decision to have to make, good luck.

Guess this means means your M20B25 might not be for sale. :(
well, if the guy who has the Porsche I have my eyes on accepts my offer, and I manage to actually sell my e30 for what I'm looking to get than no unfortunately.

**HOWEVER** if that porsche sells, or he simply doesn't take my offer I'm keeping my convertible and doing an engine swap which means my m20b25 will be heading towards a certain little green euro siberian e30 taxicab in town;-)

I hear ya'll on the maintenance part of things, yet what I have the oportunity on picking us something where all the bases have been covered.
Clutch, timing, cooling, bbk, rollers, everything has been covered. This is literally a turnkey toy, not a "$5k 944" that needs 10k of work.

It's for sale for about 12k fully documented.

If he accepts my offers, and i get what I want for my e30 I'll likely pull the triger. It's time for a change.

If he doesn't take my offer, and I don't sell the e30, well I still have an awesome cAr:)
I bought a "fully documented" 86 951 with 58K miles for $13k. It was fine, until it broke...

All 944s need work, even the ones that don't. Just give it 8-12 months - it'll need work.

Again, fun car, just not turnkey reliable. After the first repair, I stupidly decided to put a GT30R in it since i was already in there... hehehe stupid fun and stupid way to burn money.

      Again, good learning lesson. I wish I'd bought that E30 M3 or a 964 c2 instead.

My neighbor has two 944 non-turbos. He really likes them~ one is 1/2 in primer since he is fixing up the bodywork. His wife drives the other one nearly daily.

From talking with him I would say they are equally as enjoyable as the e30, though they are harder to find. The name also carriers more weight to the non-car nerds.

Another well-to-do friend of mine has a clown shoe AND a whale tale 911. I have never seen him actually drive either, and after hearing about the $1800 fix to the climate controls in the 911 I can see why.

Some people collect/preserve and some people drive them into the ground. I have met very few Porsche turbos that are daily driven.

I worked at a Porsche dealer and got to drive a 991 turbo, didn't go past 4,000 RPM because the car didn't even have 100 miles on it yet, but even there it was seriously quick. Also got to drive the panemera turbo, also very quick. If I had the money I'd buy a porsche and not think twice about it. The overall quality of new Porsches is some of the best I've seen interior wise and they way the car drives, an absolutely beautiful piece of german engineering.

No I have not, but have autocrossed against a couple in a haggard e30 and dominated them. (I'm not an epic driver)

Once upon a time I considered a 944 over an e30. Then my GF said it looked like a Scirocco...I had to agree, Really don't like the hatchback design. Hatches are for VW fegs

That was the end of that discussion, and I never looked back!

if you get it and need parts let me know. My father inlaw had.....and imagine still has the biggest stock of 911, 914, 924 and 944 parts in the midwest. He owned a car shop for years that rebuilt Porsche's and he parted more then anyone can shake a fist at. His 40x80 shop is filled the the ceiling (not joking) with Porsche parts.

Ever since I built plastic models as a kid I've admired Porsches.
                      Still want. Even a 924.
('Course, I also lusted after Jensen Interceptors, Triumph Stags, Alfetta GTs and the Jag XJS, so I may be a bit ... off course.)

It sold before I could get my mitts on it. Had a buyer (good one at that) lined up and all

I had a 928s for awhile. The bastard front engine Porsche. It was wicked fast. But my e30 handles much better. The maintenance was insane. At least with an e30 I'm more comfortable DIY a lot of it.

I can't imagine a 928 being much worse than any other high performance car built lately...I mean the latest model is already about 20 years old.

how was the car overall? would you go for one over an e30?
