What is the back of the glove made of? I can't do mechanix gloves, I destroy them in a couple months (10-12 weekends on the car). I use mine more for welding and cutting and they burn up to easy. I tried the Kobalt knockoffs and they are half the price and lasted just as long. I might just call it quits and go back to the all leather truckers gloves I wore when I worked in the shop.
best mechanics gloves?

Some type of fabric. They're pretty durable TBH. But when I know I'm going to be handling heavy metal I'll switch over to my leather gloves to avoid getting these greasy as I use them for general shop work with things that can't be getting black whenever I touch them. I have a full rotation of gloves that I use, lol. What is the back of the glove made of? I can't do mechanix gloves, I destroy them in a couple months (10-12 weekends on the car). The most durable set of tight fitting gloves I use are the miller metal working gloves. I believe I got them from cyber weld.

have several pairs of these and they work fine.
Also home depot sells some gloves called gorilla gloves, they fit snug and are washable. I like them also because you can keep the gloves on to do smaller things.
I also have a box of autozone blue gloves, theyre alright for doing messy jobs but rip sort of easy.Comment

I like mechanix gloves but yeah they get beat up fast, still love em though.
Not sure why people wear rubber gloves while wrenching, the whole point of gloves for me is so i dont smash my hands as bad or cut them on random stuff. Rubber just keeps your hands clean, who cares about that? :)
I do wear rubber gloves when using any chemicals though. Or i at least try to.94 325isComment

Not sure if you're being totally serious, but the Raven gloves are sturdy enough to protect me from aluminum edges/circlips/drain plugs/AN fittings/etc. Most of the time, that is. :pI like mechanix gloves but yeah they get beat up fast, still love em though.

I hate rubber gloves mainly on the fact that you need a new pair evertime and they aren't that durable unless you spend the money for the durable ones.Comment

I prefer natural fiber - either cotton or leather. leather if it's greasy and cotton if it's just dirt.
Rubber gloves suck, my hands get sweaty and I have to change them every 20 minutes. Plus I have large hands and gloves aren't meant to fit me. I've had one pair of leather gloves for the last 8 years, I'd have gone through a whole palate of rubber gloves by now.
I have some "mechanics" gloves of some sort that have nice knuckle protection and padding. they're too nice to wear when things are greasy and they just barely fit my hands so I still prefer the old leathers..Comment

I use these. They go on sale a lot so I buy a few pairs when they're cheap. I used to use bigger name / more expensive gloves. These last just as long.
One hard lesson I learned early on is don't get brake fluid on your gloves. The fluid will impregnate the color dye of the glove into your hand and you pretty much have to wait for that layer of skin to die.Comment

I'll make this real simple. I guess next I'll have to just send samples to people.
FYI, I'm not in a position to supply these to R3V.i'lldoitforacaravanComment

At work I switch between these Hyflex gloves and KimberlyClark Kleenguard/Jackson gloves
Neither have any sort of knuckle protection, and let dirt right through the back, so working on anything really dirty I end up throwing a pair of nitrile gloves underneath.
The Hyflex have a foam/rubber coating that gets eaten away by most solvents. They are also thicker, and therefore larger when in your pocket.
Never really used anything else other than loads of nitrile gloves.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment
