To Save Or Not To Save this 323i

Okay r3v, I need some advice. I know about an '83 euro 323i that needs work that I can buy for $250. I would love to buy it and save it, but I just want to make sure I'm not getting in over my head. I will be doing all the work myself, slowly restoring this baby, so that isn't the problem, the money to bring her back to life is. So here's the details boys, read everything, check out the pics and let me know if I should save her or not. Is she worth $250?

    THE BAD
    -no title
-doesn't run, engine needs full rebuild
-no interior except houndstooth front comfort seats
    -unknown miles
    -euro bumpers are gone
-has been hit in the front. Fixed fine but will need new fenders and hood as they are from a diff car and are rusty
    -missing a LOT of parts

    THE GOOD
    -real euro car
    -super rare opalgrun-metallic color
    -very minimal, repairable rust
    -5 speed
    -clean houndstooth front comfort seats
    -its mine for $250

***The pics show a zender kit and euro bumpers on it. I already bought the zender kit from the guy and now am debating whether I should go back and get the whole car. Someone else already took the euro bumpers

For that price it's worth it in scrap.

I will say in honesty that car is pretty far gone. You would have to be really dedicated to saving it.

What's your budget and will you be doing most work yourself?

I'll be doing all the work myself and I don't really have a set budget yet. I do know that there is a local parts car that is still complete minus a blown headgasket and I can completely strip it for $350. Basically I could pretty much get every part I need minus engine stuff for $350. Then I'd have to rebuild the b23

It's quite a project, but don't let anyone discourage you, if you want that specific car, go for it, if you are flexible on models, find a $1000 base to start with in three times better the condition.

Yeah I gotcha. I already have an e30, this would be a second car. I'm 17 and this would just be a fun side project for me

If it was me I would save it. It is a rare euro e30 323i.

Exactly what I've been thinking. I just hate thinking about it getting scrapped when its a euro 323i

It doesn't look that far gone at all. But you can't really see the typical rust areas in those pictures.

But, the no title in WA may be an issue. I don't know the laws over there...

True. I believe it can still be titled luckily

Buy it, take the bumpers, send remainder to metal crusher.

For what you'll spend to get it to good spec, you could just import one.
