I like the early e30's for a few reasons, even over the late model e30s, and onto the e36s. I praise their simplicity, and how they seem to ride the line between classic and modern. As some who've already posted have said, they have heart and soul, and a lot of character. In the 90's it really seems like a lot of car manufacturers started to discover how cheap and easy plastic body parts were to mass produce (can you blame them?), and I think it starts to rear it's head on the e36s. With that said, I still love them, it's a bimmer after all! And I love me a tastefully modded e36 M3. They're both awesome cars, but the e30 is just timeless, they'll always look awesome.

I prefer the four-cylinder E30s to four-cylinder E36s and six-cylinder E36s to six-cylinder E30s. I had an 87 325is for a minute in college and then a 95 325is. The E36 was much nicer to drive, had sharper steering, and the ride was much better.

            Totally subjective.

I have a e30 318is, e30 325, and a 95 e36 m3 all very different for the drive the e36 m3 is the best!! The cool factor my e30 touring! For the purist in me the rev happy noisy squeaky m42 e30. I depends on what I'm feeling like. I wouldn't trade any of these for an e 90 that's for sure.

In Every E36 I get in, the interior is falling apart at a ridiculous rate. The build quality is Significantly less than an e30.

E36s also seam to have weaker chassis (Subframe issues) though the rear suspension design is much better.

Id gladly have a 4 door 5 speed E36 for a Daily, But over that Id have an E34 525i.

E30s look better, E36s are made out of plastic . Anything that isint an "M3" or 95+ looks stoopid.

Where I work we Refer to them as "Parts Cars" .

The e30 is one of the best built cars of its time. That's the primary reason why there's so many around, and why they are so popular

Personally I think the svelte lines and minimalistic designs are what makes it the nicest e30 of the 70's - 90's.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!
