I sold my e30 to another r3v member today. I just want to put this out there because if I find out the truth and if it leads back to people on this board people will suffer. I had a car lined up to buy once I sold my car and I took less than I could of so I could go buy the car I wanted. Well over the past few days I have been talking with some extremely well known people on this site and a few others about this car I was going to buy and what I could do with it. So one of these people asked to see the craigslist ad about the car. So as of last night I had a deal to buy this car. Well I saw these said popular members were posting about having parts off a car that was my exact car I was going to buy. So I took the cash this morning for my car and told the guy I would be buying it and he said it was good to go. So a few minutes ago I get an email from the guy saying that someone last night made offer he couldn't refuse. He told me who it was and its the member I was asking about my car. So they took my deal and went and undercut it. Then I find out they paid 200 less than we agreed and they are going to part the car and I was going to full restore it. I realize I sound like a whining 12 year old in a dog eats dog world but is this the type of people that are super popular members here? I was going to buy the car and then come to them for 5 grand in upgrades instead they buy the car so they can part it out and put a premium on the parts.
Im amazed considering all the great things I heard about this person. It is what it is. So now I got a bunch of money and no car. And the car I wanted was imported from Europe in 1984. Im not gonna walk down the street and find one. What a day what a day. I hope the greedy bastard gets top dollar for all those parts.

To avoid being asked to say who it is ill just say this. They know who they are I can show the pm's on mye28. Im a grown man though and believe in karma. East of the Mississippi, North of Mason Dixon, and West of the hills of PA. You can figure it out. I just wanted to get this off my chest because I have met like 30 super cool friendly people just in a month on here. So its not all bad.

EDIT. A lot of people are reading this first post and making an opinion. I go into further detail in further posts. This was a post designed for perspective not to accuse people of crimes. They have the right to be greedy just like I have the right to be upset. Its only a car. I choose to be transparent because thats how I am. When I see this person being worshipped on every bmw centric forum on the net that makes me think they are stand up. The reality is they just want as many people to buy the products as possible.

This is why I never talk about my scores with ANYONE, and that is why I got NIB Recaros from the 80s for 300.00 picked up.

Consider it a lesson learned OP.

Ill say this he's popular on here,mye28,bimmerforum and any other place they are talking about boosted m30s. He even quite possibly has "kits" for m30s. All you would have to do is look for someone parting out m106 parts in the classifieds and I don't mean the random person. The thing is when I contacted the seller of this e23 745 he told me how these said parts hounds were after him for a year and that he wanted it to go to a guy that would restore it. Suddenly I'm talking to the part hound last night and I'm like I want to do this to it and that. They wanted to see it. I send it and silence and now the car is gone "suddenly". I mean the seller is at fault here too don't get me wrong. Im just saying let the little guy eat. I come on here with a decent e30 from Charbel and try to sell it to the community and gain and add knowledge and get 4 grand to buy a e23 and make it a track car. I'm going to be spending all my money in the community classifieds on parts to upgrade. So instead of getting the money in the long run they need instant gratification. I heard good things about this person and then everytime I would google anything about boosted m30 they are the poster or are commenting on every post so they can get their 2 cents in. Its similar to a popuar VANOS guy who suddenly pops in every time they mention VANOS. Thats their right and their hustle I know the game I've been on the popular Subaru threads for many years. Product placement etc. Hey they gotta make their money. Well I am a single guy no kids with money to waste Im pming them telling them how I'm buying a money pit and their my go to person. So can't they understand that means I'm going to be spending far more than they can get in parts to turn a parts car into my dream car. Bad business Bad Karma. I mean I'm self aware enough to know this sounds like complaining but we all work hard for our money and expect our word to mean something. I come on here thinking anybody I talk to is a man of honor. Like man up. Don't sneak around and every time someone posts start talking about how your product is better blah blah. Im the same person in real life or on this keyboard. If I tell someone I'm doing this that means I'm doing it. No wishy washy. At least I got a good price for my e30 right? Thats thinking like a greedy person not an enthusiast or connoisseur of something. How many euro spec 5 speed upgraded slick top cloth seat no self level with a 7 grand performance motor rebuild come along? To a connoisseur thats like finding a rare species. To a parts hawk thats MONEY MONEY MONEY need more MONEY MONEY. The worst part is I'm still going to buy a 745 and at some point will be at a crossroad of having to buy from this person or go without or who knows. I think they call this a rant and its over. If the so called lowlife paid 200 LESS than your offer, that just sounds like you were taking too long to go get it. In the grown up world; money talks and dibs does not mean shit.

I am not siding with anyone, if you were there to grab it with cash in hand...you would be posting your BMW instead of complaining someone else snatched it up.

I witnessed some karma today. Some asshat left their cart next to my driver's door when there was a cart stall not even 30 feet away. However, they forgot their avocados in the cart. So, I got some free avocados.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch, or talk about them on the internet.

I bet you won't do that again !

still sucks that the lowlifes who bought it are going to part it, versus the op who was actually going to enjoy it the way it was meant to.

For sure I was including myself in saying karma. Like thats what I get for talking about a car before I have the title. The car has been on sale a year. The guy who bought has been making offers for a year. I saw the car saturday afternoon browsing craigslist. I contacted the seller said I was interested and will put a deposit, he explained the only real interest he had was these guys from near Lake Michigan who have been lowballing him for a year. He said no worries about needing a deposit he would hold it for a reasonable amount of time. I said give me 4 days he said take a week and then its back for anybody. So I lined up a sale of my e30 and started pming people about possible work I would have done once I bought the car so a few pms go and I mention ya the seller has been telling me you have been trying to buy it as parts car for a year I'm gonna buy it and fix it up. He said let me see it. Boom silence and the car is gone. I offered exact listing price cash in hand at the guys driveway. We had it all set up I had a ride to Pittsburgh and boom "suddenly" the parts guy makes an offer he couldn't refuse from 9 hours away. Im less than 3 to his driveway envelope of cash and offered a deposit on 3 occasions. So when I say karma I'm not strictly referring to the eventual buyer. Im speaking about me running my mouth before i bought it, the seller who is on r3v and is at fault, and the buyer who is on r3v and is just working in a capitalistic market. So its not about anything other than greed. Hey I've stepped in on deals too. Im just reflecting on my experience with a well known BMW "expert". And when I say they will suffer I mean in the end from me not buying anything. Not like my couple grand affects their bottom line anyways.

And exactly like the post above states we are supposed to be connoisseur of BMWs on here. This isn't mean to be the New York Stock Exchange. Asset trading. Its like we pour our energy into these cars knowing its a complete waste of money cause we all have the itch. So lets not turn this into ebay rigging bids. Im not saying anything that hasn't been said millions of time. I'm just relating my experience. Im positive Ill meet hundreds of cool people.
