    Sand blasting!

    Give me any and all advice you have here R3V! I bought a hopper, gun, but media is expensive! What have you all used?? Play/all purpose sand is out!

              I've only ever used sand. But I have heard good things about starblast.

                Coal slag or i think black diamond brand works really well. Also glass bead works well.

                You'll need a good air compressor and a air line dryer to get any performance.

                        Yea you need to get a nice room for it and seal it, and wear really heavy duty respirators if your doing silica sand blasting. Even without you dont wanna be breathing in paint dust and shit.

                          Yeah, and it's kind of a big deal. Avoid it, use a different blasting material IMO. Probably not an issue with thicker pieces like a subframe but if you're doing body work, there's also the risk of warping the panel if you're using sand. I'm no expert but I'd probably look into glass bead or walnut shells, and I think there's a plastic media too.

                              All purpose is basically playground sand, the stuff they usually sell at home depot. It will clog up your system.
