awesome wish I had he money so I could put one on my 63 year old fathers 135i while he is on holidays just so I can see his face when he drives it for the first time with out knowing what has been done lol
The profit margin on N54 performance parts is insane
I think everything but the turbo kits are actually pretty cheap compared to a lot of cars I have owned/modified. Set of down pipes for under $400, hell it cost me that or alittle more for 1 down pipe on a 1.8t gti.
VRSF intercoolers are cheap and effective too compared to anything for the old gti.
FBOs = cheap for the performance you get (or so I think).
Its funny how people used to say alloy blocks werent good for turbos ...
I never new why people thought that. They still have steel sleeves so there is really no difference between an alloy block and steel unless it is one of those gay m60/m62 style cylinders
well, tbh the only part that im curious about is the head bolt threads. if those are stock ... thats interesting.
afaik they are a weak point, and it makes sense since its pretty easy to mess a thread in an alloy block. but thats something you can fix with some ARP head studs, or time-serts ... or both.
