How much (average) could be made by parting out a running (and fully complete) e30?

Considering it from the low-ball offers I'm getting. Most want a mint, and well-maintained car for nothing.

I have a garage I'm renting for $250/month and have the garage till the beginning of March where I can strip it.

I really don't mind stripping it as my "side hobby", to get my money outta it.

Car has little rust, but the mechanics were uber-maintained and runs like a top.

    thanks in advance
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Bruh, list out everything salvageable in an excel sheet with whatever the going rate is at the moment and do the math.

You're going to part out a perfectly good, running and driving E30? Ban?

bruh, I dunno the going rate for these parts...that's why I'm asking if it's worthwhile. Obviously I'd get more than selling it whole, I just wanna know how much more (if it's worthwhile).

Honestly, if it doesn't have much rust, you might want to market it on the east coast of Canada. Rust free cars are hard to find here in NJ, I can't imagine how bad it is up there. You should be able to find someone willing to pay what it's worth.

As ak- mentioned, place the parts on a spreadsheet. Plan to do some research and see what parts are more popular within the community and add them first along with average prices other sellers may have them placed at (either on the forums, craigslist, or eBay).

Even though this may not be a direct cost, think about the labor involved for you to tear down the car, ship the parts and hope that particular parts sell for you to make your desired cost goal.

Also, are you in a contract to the rent the garage until March? If not, you could also factor in the additional $250 a month you pay for it to possibly sell the whole car at a lower price to even things out.

Which car do you have? I mean sport seats are worth a lot more than comforts. An automatic isn't as sought after as 5 speeds. You aren't going to get more than scrap value for bottle caps.

I have the garage for that time while I'm in a contract until March. I planned on doing a lot of repairs/upgrades to the car, but I really can't turn down the small value for this car once everything is complete. My labor is a moot point as that's all time I would have up into repairing and upgrading the car

Honestly, it's not really worth that much when you factor in all of the time to pull everything, take pictures, post them online, negotiate, box everything up, drive to FedEx/UPS/DHL, ship packages, etc.

I've parted like 15 cars over the last ten years and I'm always disappointed in the return. Only parts that really sell are the rare ones, which most parted cars in America don't have.

Sell as a whole and move on to the next one, even if it's for a few hundred less, you'll lose more than that in your labor alone.

Not reading the thread, you're a horrible person for parting running E30s.

parting out a car SUCKS, youll deal with a thousand tire kickers, have to give "shipping quotes" on every single piece in the car.. and in the end youll be stuck with a ton of parts that nobody wants or things that arent worth anything..

i did it once, worst thing ive ever done..

try putting it forsale on more places then forums full of unemployed 17yr olds.. have you tried ebay? craigslist?
