Off topic here: Maybe this is a stupid question and I should look at the website more, but what restrictions are there for bidding on these cars? Can anyone just bid on and buy and of these cars?

they vary depending on the car. some you don't even need a license for. there are, however, a shit load of fees that get annoying pretty quickly.

That car looks like it has alot more than the miles displayed. The trip is 000.0 that means the gears are broken forsure.

you are probably right. however, i have had 3 or 4 m3 clusters and none of them had bad gears. i think they are generally made out of better plastic than standard e30's.

^ That's not body work. That's frame work.

That just looks like a big tree fell on it. I don't see any other damage other than the roof, door, and a pillar. Once on a frame machine you would know for sure, but that looks like a simple repair for any competent collision repair shop.

That's what I'm thinking. Even though they aren't the same I bet you could get a regular e30 roof and with some modification and fab skills you could probably make it look perfect.

Looks great...what did the repair costs end up being? That would prob help with a ball park on the subject car.

                        We just fixed this:

So, given the condition of the rest of the car, it's worth saving.
You're repainting the car anyways... so exterior condition isn't a huge concern.

Mine broke in 2000, with 62K on it, took the motor apart, fixed the problems, been sitting in my shop, getting ready to pull it all apart for paint etc,
